If you enjoy fresh fish, the odd chip and good friendly service this is for you.Nothing pretentious but great sourcing and spot on execution.A freshly caught lemon sole on the bone or your traditional batter fest it matters not it will be perfectly cooked. Small interesting wine list. Its popular with big groups so best book a table and be... More

We didn't book but the helpful staff squeezed us in no problem. The scallops were superb, the seabass with Asian veg was excellent and the freshly baked madelins with ice cream/lemon curd was a fitting finale. We also had the last bottle of white Riocha.... Shame!

As recommended we went by early in the day to see what fish they had on offer that day. We reserved a lobster and the freshest sole that we have ever eaten. Both were prepared to perfection. This lobster was tender and sweet with the freshest herbal butter. The fish tasted like it had jumped form the sea onto our... More

I found the restaurant quite average with an unexciting menu for a fishing village. We had a pleasant enough meal with good and friendly service. There is also a take away section.

We rang to see if we could get a booking and answer was no. However we called in and they sat us at a long table which was fine. I had oysters which were excellent and the fish curry was wonderful Wine reasonably priced Service very good Worth a visit

We ate dinner here and really enjoyed it. The staff were really pleasant and attentive. The location is super, with views over the harbour and the rooms are nicely decorated both upstairs and down. The menu has a really broad mix, satisfying both teenagers who just wanted burgers or battered fish (really good fish, said 17 yr old), and adults... More

Anyone visiting Cornwall; I can recommend The Watch House in St Mawes. Excellent seafood. My wife & I both had the hot shellfish. Two scallops, 2 crabs claws, 5 huge tiger prawns and mussels in a white wine buttery sauce. Very messy to eat - came with the necessary tools - crab claw pliers etc. Bowl of lemon water and... More

As a couple we stayed in st Mawes for a Week. 8th- 15th July We stumbled upon the Watch House on the first on the first Sunday for dinner, we strolled in on the off chance and requested a table for 4. Although it was a litte busy the staff soon made room for us and we are so glad... More

We chose this place for lunch as it was too hot to sit outside and they had a big sign welcoming dogs, our two immediately were given their own water bowl on arrival. The food was not cheap, but you paid for the excellent quality and service. Worth every penny as a holiday treat.
