Sorry to say, but Pengenna has bad pasties (for my taste).... also according to the Cornish Pasty Association, they don't qualify as real cornish pasties as they are top crimped rather than side crimped! I don't know why I even tried them, because I knew this before I got one, but because of the reviews I felt like they would... More

Pengenna pasties is always on our list of food places to visit whenever we're in St Ives. The pasties are massive and priced at £4 this summer. They are always packed full of fillings and made & baked in the shop. Perfect every time! There is often a queue outside the door at lunch time! Pengenna also have a selection... More

We went to Pengenna Pasties as it is the highest rated place in St Ives for a Cornish pasty. I had a cheese and onion one and my boyfriend had a traditional one. We were both very disappointed. Mine was overwhelmingly salty, inedibly so. I love salty foods but this was awful. I didn't eat the whole thing but my... More

Bought 3 pasties: traditional, veggie and lamb. We shared so we could have a taste off all of these. All tasted excellent, both filling and dough. Would recommend this pasty shop.

I went as it had the best review. I wanted to eat my pasty on the beach so I asked for the hottest they had, five minutes later it was tepid. The filling was grey and unseasoned. All rather disappointing at an inflated price. The size was big, however there was not a size option and nothing size wise suitable... More

Don't be sucked in by the great window display of tasty large cakes, they are not the ones that are served. Looking in the window I liked the look of the large tray of what looked like freshly cooked Muffins, went in to order only to be presented with something that looked nothing like the ones in the window -... Always visit Pengenna for a Pasty when in St Ives, but have to say that they are not as good as they used to be. Yes they are large, but a little expensive at £4 and quite ordinary in taste.

At the end of March, on my request/recommendation, an old friend on a one day business trip to St Ives brought home (to Dorset) Pengenna (traditional) pasties for him and his wife, and for me. After eating (a very little of) mine, I emailed him: "Thanks for the pasty – but I fear that I may also owe you an... More

I visit St Ives once a year and always buy a pasty and perhaps some chutneys from Pengenna. I notice numerous negative reviews have been posted recently. I feel compelled to do the same. Bland and expensive does sum this visit up. The traditional pasty was terrible in comparison to other years, with little to no seasoning. The meat was... More
