I have visited this b&b for the past decade now with my family at least 2-3 times a year. The Crumplehorn has always been a place of welcoming atmosphere, cosy bar/nook area and general relaxation. Since the new owner has taken over however they have stripped the pub care of its welcoming atmosphere and will also be having a serious... More

My family and I have been coming here for many years, especially for birthday meals and special occasions. We were so disappointed on our visit on 3/2/17 for my father in laws birthday. First of all there were no starters which was very disappointing as most of us prefer a starter to a dessert, and usually starters are on the menu... More

Came here for dinner on a quiet January evening. Had fish and chips and the portion was enormous!! The fish was lovely and fresh in a nice light batter, the one criticism I had is the chips were frozen and for me that let's a meal down, why have a lovely fresh fish in a homemade batter and then have... New owners deserving to do well. We visited at lunch time. It was quiet and lacked the internal atmosphere that the character of the building suggests it should have. The fire being lit would have helped.

This was our first visit to the Crumplehorn. It's name alone conjours up magical images, but their homemade food is, magical in taste and quality. We simply ordered home made fish finger burger......... And the portion was mind blowing. 4 fat fish fingers, battered lightly and full of fresh, tasty cod. It was hard work to eat it all, but... Food is great, staff are lovely and friendly. There's a car park across the street. The restaurant is just before the car restricted town center. It's also a hotel. Highly recommend this eatery and will return before I leave the holiday cottage

Called into the Crumplehorn on a wet and cold lunchtime to be met by a welcoming log fire. Good pint of Tribute to accompany a very good home made cottage loaf pie, and a large portion of it as well. My wife had the cod and chips, again well cooked and large portion.

Scampi & Chips: chips luke warm - scampi really poor quality was advertised as wholetail but could hardly find any scampi meat. Chicken burger: chips luke warm - chicken like shoeleather. Lemon Meringue Pie: was a cash and carry staple - was certainly not home made as advertised. Very disappointed.
