Visited on a cool winter evening for a birthday meal. Not disappointed with this late booking. The steak was very tender and perfectly cooked. Portions are generous, service was relaxed and gracious and we felt very welcome. Only open in the evenings and therefore not suitable for young children.

Fantastic food and great service with a smile from Rachel who went the extra mile to ensure we had an amazing evening. Rump steak with chilli rub was lovely. Well worth the visit.

The Bakehouse restaurant is off the historic Chapel Street, down a short alley-way almost opposite The Egyptian House. It has a pleasant modern décor. From the crab bisque, to the seared monkfish with lentils, to the meringue with a toasted oats and hazelnut base, fruit compote and clotted cream on top, everything had intense and wonderful flavours. Quantities were just... More

We visited The Bakehouse on a 2 night visit to Penzance and were very glad that we did. It is in the heart of historic Penzance, tucked into a lovely courtyard. It can be a little hard to find because of that but well worth the effort. The interior is modern but comfortable, with two levels for dining. We did... More

Lovely dining experience in Penzance, the evening got off to a slow start as they were struggling to keep pace, however once service began it was a lovely evening. The decor is modern, cafe style, very relaxed and stylish, the food however was seriously good. Vegetarians were well catered for and for the fish and meat lovers there were good... More

So glad we found this restaurant on Trip Advisor as I'm sure we would have missed it if walking past. Although the restaurant was quiet (on a Thursday evening in winter), we received a warm, friendly welcome. This was backed up by fantastic, tasty food. One friend commented that the scallops were the best she's ever eaten and my fillet... More

This restaurant serves THE best steaks. The surroundings are cosy and the waiting staff couldn't be more attentive. Word of warning, everything is charged as an 'extra,' so it can be a bit pricey. But for a special night out, it is definitely worth it.

Having got soaked in the torrential rain we happened to pass the board at the front of the alley and I recognised the name from Tripadvisor reviews. Despite being a Saturday night the helpful staff said they could fit us in if we could get back in half an hour, giving us time to come back dry! It was worth... More

Absolutely Fantastic. Food is out of this world. You won't be disappointed. Extremely authentic. Staff, well superlatively professional and friendly. Put it this way, if the price was doubled I would so much gladly pay. Best venue I've ever visited, and I've been to a few top notch restaurants. Extremely well done.😀. Very professional chief,s. Well done. Extremely recommended.
