From when we entered the door (without reservation) we felt very welcome. And during the evening the service was top quality and the food great. So far this is the best restaurant we have visited in Penzance. The cocktail, starter, main course and dessert were all of top quality for both of us, and we were never stressed by the... More

The Bakehouse really deserves the excellent reviews. We were staying in Newlyn and looking for some place a bit special for a Saturday evening, and this restaurant was perfect. The atmosphere is very relaxed, but at the same time there is an attention to detail which makes for a great dining experience. As others have commented, the staff are excellent,... More

On two floors - down a secluded passage off the historic Chapel Street -the Bakeouse is a true gem. Service is prompt polite and attentive - without being 'in your face' - a truly great eating experience - hence the five stars

Thank you for making my husbands birthday very special. The steaks were very tasty with our 10 year old demolishing the lot! Staff were excellent and made the whole evening very special. They were knowledgeable when recommending wines to compliment the Chateau Briand. Thank you for the Happy Birthday dessert presented to my husband.

The bakehouse is in a bit hidden in a cute little mews off Chapel Street but well worth finding. The staff were friendly when we arrived and the room upstairs where we sat was relaxed and comfortable. The menu has plenty of great choices and list of specials was extensive too making the choice of what to have a bit... More

A bit stumped for special restaurants in Penzance to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary until we spotted this place, thank goodness we did ! Arrived to star sprinkles on our table to celebrate ! Service was impeccable, food and wine were superb with lots of local choices. We had starter and main and were too full for dessert but the... More

What a lovely restaurant, the service is friendly and helpful, the homemade bread with oils were delicious, and the menu left us spoilt for choice. We eventually went with the duck breast and Helford mussels for starters they were both cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. Mains was a steak and a monkfish Thai inspired. Wow that was excellent, and... More

Visited on a Wednesday evening with 5 work colleagues. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Prices very reasonable. Recommend the olives as an appetiser. Absolutely delicious. We all had steaks and everyone was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Will definitely visit again.
