On our last evening in Penzance, we went to the Bakehouse, which has an early bird menu. Very reasonably priced and very good. I had the smoked duck starter and my friend had the monkfish. Both excellent. Followed by the mussels and the beetroot risotto. Also very good. Decent wines by the glass for less than 5 pounds. Good services.... More

This was in a pleasant location, inside a little plain. Staff very friendly, again another quite evening. Menu was nice and you where able to mix it up from specials from main menu. Food came quickly my daughters squid was a little cold and overly curry spiced, mussels were lovely as was our main dish, pollock, cooked very well but... More

Fantastic food, service and ambience. Reminded me of Ottolenghi. Wonderful fresh flavours. Thanks so much for a lovely meal especially at one of your busiest times.

We had dinner here with friends having wanted to try it for a while but had been unable to book! The restaurant is hidden away in a beautiful courtyard off Chapel Street. The entrance to which has been beautifully kept and delightfully lit up. The restaurant is light and airy and simply decorated with some stunning photography on the walls.... More

We love this gorgeous restaurant hidden away just off the historic Chapel street. But its busy, even in Winter, a favorite with the locals (says everything) so try to book. The food, decor and cocktails are amazing but what make this place are the friendly owners and their staff. Always professional, unfazed and attentive but also willing to have a... More

We had two nights in Penzance and visited two very good restaurants, the Bakehouse was the second. The menu was comprehensive and sophisticated. We rarely eat steak but having read other reviews decided on the porterhouse. It was cooked perfectly, tender and flavoursome. The sides of sautéed Green's and crushed Cornish potatoes were excellent. To add the finishing touch we... More

This is a nice quaint little restaurant with very accommodating staff. The food is good and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that they put just a bit too much dressing on the food. That old saying 'less is more' is very apt in this case. The ingredients they use are top notch so I don't... More

We headed here one night when we really didn't know where to eat and stumbled on this little gem. The food was really tasty and cooked very well. I had baked goats cheese and then lobster for main, maybe I'm being picky but seeing the eggs on the lobster was a bit off putting, but it was very tasty. We... More

Every year when in Cornwall we visit the Bakehouse. Quality food, especially the Chateau Briand for two. Excellent quality and such big portions at a very reasonable price. Service by friendly waitresses is great. Make sure you book, because when we have been many would be customers could not get in. Great menu, always a bit different. Lovely ambience and good... More

We had a lovely evening at the Bakehouse. It has a nice atmosphere with plenty of choice on the menu and delightful staff who went out of their way to make our evening special. The style is more relaxed bistro rather than fine dining but the food was excellent with fair prices. We were glad that we pre-booked.
