We only had a day in Penzance which left very little time to plan eating which made it all the more impressive a find for a last minute choice. The staff were warm and welcoming despite us looking like we'd spent the day on the beach, which we had. We didn't need to book but it was early on a... More

Excellent dining experience on our evening in Penzance. A good choice of dishes, and excellent quality, the crab caesar salad and fillet steak were superb; the prices of the main courses do not include vegetables, but a starting price of just under £20 for fillet steak is a reasonable price. Friendly staff as well.

Our daughter is coeliac and needs gluten free option. Waitress was really helpful and careful about checking what would be OK for her. We really appreciated it and the food was excellent also. Would recommend highly.

Great meal - in the week we spent in Penzance this together with Mackerel Sky were the best two restaurants (Blacks a close 3rd). Slightly more expensive here - sides ordered separately - but consistently great dishes. Mussels were plentiful in a delicious white wine sauce, Pollock very well executed. Desserts not cheap but all very good. Service very good.

From when we entered the door (without reservation) we felt very welcome. And during the evening the service was top quality and the food great. So far this is the best restaurant we have visited in Penzance. The cocktail, starter, main course and dessert were all of top quality for both of us, and we were never stressed by the... More

The Bakehouse really deserves the excellent reviews. We were staying in Newlyn and looking for some place a bit special for a Saturday evening, and this restaurant was perfect. The atmosphere is very relaxed, but at the same time there is an attention to detail which makes for a great dining experience. As others have commented, the staff are excellent,... More

On two floors - down a secluded passage off the historic Chapel Street -the Bakeouse is a true gem. Service is prompt polite and attentive - without being 'in your face' - a truly great eating experience - hence the five stars
