We were staying at the hotel & on the first night thought we would try out the restaurant. I had the battered hake & chips whilst my boyfriend had the steak...both were beautiful. The battered hake was by far the best I've ever had with light & crispy batter & a punchy tartare sauce & very tasty mushy peas. The... More

The service was very good, but thought the white gloves during service was quite inappropriate in this type of restaurant. One of our party of four had the Hake in beer batter, chips, mushy peas and homemade tartar sauce. The fish was of very poor quality, and the batter very greasy, the chips weren't cooked, the mushy peas were cold... More

Two sea food dishes, followed by mature cheese selection of strong characterful cheeses. Beautifully presented dishes, with some original small twists that I loved. My colleague had a great line caught mackerel started that was first class. Very good wine list, covering most tastes and budgets.

Had a great afternoon tea here today with my husband and granddaughter, plenty of salmon ham and cheese sandwiches with homemade pickle, warm soft fluffy scones which melted in your mouth lots of jam and cream, beautiful bite size cakes all homemade, peppermint tea and coffee, we even started with a glass of fizz. Very very nice.

We dined here the first night of our 3-day stay at the Hotel Penzance and never having tried Scallops before thought we would give them a go as a starter. Well, the pan-fried scallops with cauliflower puree plus seaweed and cider salami were delicious and “melt in the mouth”. They were followed by the Cornish beer-battered Hake which was cooked... This is a lovely relaxed and elegant restaurant with excellent service and beautiful views over Mounts Bay. The food is simply perfection on a plate, the effort and skill that the chefs put into each plate is incredible - the result is stunning to look at and to eat. Using as much locally sourced seasonal food as possible means the... More

We came to Cornwall with the hope of eating fresh fish, simply cooked. The hake and chips fitted the bill perfectly. I enjoyed every mouthful.

Had scollops for our starter , the smallest scallop I have ever been served in any restaurant ! Main corse was nice . Desert choice dissapointing . Service acceptable but basic .. over priced for what you get . No atmosphere in the restaurant felt like we were rushed .far better places to eat in Penzance town .
