The fact that we had breakfast here every day of our holiday says it all. A small bakery with limited seating opposite a large pay for car park. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive on each of our 7 visits. The bacon rolls were very yummy, the Belgium buns Hugh and also yummy and prices very reasonable. Dog friendly too, what’s not to love. We will definitely be back on our next trip

Popped in to pick up a take away cream tea (£7.20) which includes 4 large scones, a pot of jam and clotted cream. The scones were fresh and I had the choice of plain or fruit. They were top quality and possibly the best scones I’d ever had.

As a widely travelled person I visited Looe today where I was fortunate enough to have the best sausage rolls and plain scones I have ever had from Martin's Dairy in Looe. The quality and quantity are just wonderful - it's just a real shame there wasn't a Martin's Dairy where I live. Thank you for making Looe so extra memorable

Since the early 80s I have enjoyed Steak Pasties from Martins Bakery, they were lovely in fact I have,on occasions, driven from Teignmouth to Looe just for one of their Pasties. Not any more; about 3 or 4 years ago they changed in both appearance and quality. Last Thursday I was in Looe and thought I would give them another try,big mistake they are even worse, stogy, tasteless and dry. The original Pasties were moist with noticable onion, swede and potato with beef skirt on top.Now they are diced potato and mince with little seasoning. I am very dissapointed and will not go again.

Today i went martin, i had me pasty to take away. ye see, i got me pasty and it was cold, so i asked for it to be warmed up which seemed to be a problem for the worker. I got it back still cold but i just accepted it, i bit into me pasty and it was lovely, a nice taste to it despite my old taste buds. Furthermore, the tables were very sticky due to the sanitation on them, very uncomfterble. The price of said pastys is mental, to be honest, im on me pension and i cant afford to spend £4.30 each day. Occasionally, martins dairy is a nice place to eat, however on the most part its rushed, tacky, gross, and not very thoughtful, let alone the price of it. Personally would not recommend

The pasties in the window display looked nicer than the ones actually sold inside. Bought pasties to take back to London, they were potato pies really, spot the missing meat, no pepper so very tasteless. Scones were okay but the cream bought there (on the 18th) in date until the 22nd was mouldy when I checked it on the way home! Funny as the cream on display was dated the 29th! This must have been “under the counter, let’s get rid of it stuff”. The staff member serving was arrogant and stroppy. Just shoved the card machine in front of me without even telling me how much I needed to pay - really! Learn some manners young lady. This shop is best avoided.

Martins sell the best scones in Looe (IMHO) along with clotted cream and jam if required. Buy 8 and get 2 free - great deal for taking home. Freshly baked every day - they were still hot out of the oven when we bought them on Monday to take home!

Went to this bakery on our first day and oh my it was amazing. My mum and dad had a chocolate cake and they said it was to die for! I had a scone and it was not only huge but so soft and delicious. The best scones I've ever had and they are so reasonably priced. I sample several whilst on holiday in Cornwall and these were by far the best. We sat in on the first day and we were allowed to take the dogs in too. My partner is vegan and he ate the vegan sausage role, he said it was amazing too. The service was friendly and their display was impressive! If the scones hadn't been as nice as they were I would have sampled a cake. The best bakery by far in my opinion. They were that good I bought some home. 4 scones (2 plain and 2 with saltanas), a huge pot of jam and a huge pot of cream all for a little over £6.

Popped in here this morning for something to eat. We both had the fruit scones with jam and cream and a pot of tea. The scones were large and homemade and the cream with them was delicious. We were given an extra jug of hot water to refill the teapot - this was a lovely touch as not every cafe does this. The two ladies were very pleasant and polite and hopefully we will be back again to Looe.

Somewhere in the last 18 months this place has gone to pieces. Last time I visited it was excellent. Today, the staff are ignorant, rude and really don’t care. The food is terrible, cheese and onion pasty with no cheese in it, just potato and no seasoning. Choux bun that’s burnt underneath the topping. No provision for kids whatsoever…. And very overpriced to boot. Don’t bother… there are far more welcoming and wholesome places to eat only a short walk away.

My family and I visited Looe yesterday and came across Martin's Dairy tearoom. We were keen to try their local Cornish fare! We found the tearoom very clean, the large hot pasties were delicious and our child enjoyed the cheese and ham bagette. We tried the large portioned cream teas, scrumptious! And bought Belgian buns to take away - they were enormous!! and very delicious! We were served by a VERY friendly and approachable lovely lady called Jess, who's service was fast, efficient, and extremely helpful. She even gave our child some complimentary sweets and as we couldn't manage to eat all our food and wanted to take it away with us, Jess was so helpful at packaging the food up for us and making sure we had everything we needed. She was so attentive and kind, it was a pleasure to meet her and we will be returning today on our visit back to Looe to buy more Belgian buns! Thank you Jess for making our visit to your tearoom so enjoyable :) The Hall family xx

Called in for a traditional Cornish Pasty and I was not disappointed. I was very impressed with the Covid procedures that were in place. Covid is still around and this place certainly haven't let their guard down. Screens, masks, sanitisers were all in place and it certainly felt like a safer environment to enjoy a tasty snack.

You’d never eat a pasty again if this was your first experience! We rarely have them as it’s not our staple diet so this is a treat. Ridiculously bland except for over the top pepper to try and disguise the minuscule amount of meat I’ve ever seen in a ‘traditional’ Cornish pasty. I feel that this place by far let’s the true Cornish down. I dread to think what delights I’d find in ‘The Miners’ version. There was so much potato it could cause a potato famine and the teeny amount of carrot I found couldn’t keep the tiniest creature alive. Never ever would we buy from there again. After speaking to locals who confirmed what we’d found. They don’t shop there. Huge disappointment. On the plus, they offer vegetarian options. They’re not telling fibs! Rip off doesn’t come close. It was the ONLY bakery with stacks of pasties, every other were sold out completely, hence our desperation. Oh and one of the young members of staff thought it was appropriate to mumble a sarcastic remark when a fellow customer politely asked for a drink of coffee. How on earth they’re still in business I don’t know. Who are these people who rave about this produce?!

I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl & in my opinion it’s the best bakery in Looe. No other bakers does better cakes than here. My fiancé loves their scones and adores their Belgian buns, which are the best he’s tasted. The portions are big, (their scones are HUGE!) but that doesn’t mean it passes on flavour. We visited a few times this week on holiday. We even got a “Too good to go” bag for £3 which for those of you who don’t know about, get to know! It was incredibly generous. It had three loaves of bread, two minted lamb pasties, a cheese/bacon turnover (which was incredible!) two jam doughnuts, a plain scone and an apple/cinammon doughnut… all for £3! You could tell a few items were varied in size like the pasties & scone was funny shape so Martins obviously didn’t think it was good enough for their very high standards so instead of throwing it away they’ve recycled it in a bag to ensure no waste. Amazing value and helping the planet. Can’t rate this place enough!

Looking in the window of Martins Dairy you would be forgiven for thinking that you were in for a real Cornish treat. Had I not had a pasty before I don’t think that I would have had another one after today. I had a traditional pasty And whilst visually it looked great the contents were far from what constitutes a pasty. If you you like a minuscule amount of cheap flavourless minced meat and love onions this is the pasty for you. It was 90% onion, 8% potato/swede and 2% meat. It was so bad I took it back and was told that maybe that batch wasn’t good and given a replacement which was equally as bad. Even my dog turned its nose up at it and it was placed where it rightfully belonged - in the bin. My son’s had a cheese and onion pasty which didn’t fair much better. The pastry was floppy and the filling was 80% onion and 20% cheese. I thought it would be impossible to get a bad pasty in Cornwall - alas I was wrong. Martin’s Dairy holds that crown for sure.
