This was our first visit to The Fish Market since its extensive refurbishment and what a great job they have done. Another first for us was their Chef’s Table offering. This really was excellent, five sumptuous course in addition to which we added the optional...drinks pairing, some diverse choices all of which accompanied the food beautifully. All courses were fully narrated by chef Fred, and we enjoyed watching the extreme care put into each plate that left his kitchen, at the same time admiring the fun that all the staff seemed to be having, despite the pressure of delivering to the high standards they have set themselves. The Fish Market continues to offer a totally first class dining experience in every respect.More

The Fish Market has had a refurbishment not just the interior, but the menu too. We booked the chefs table and the taster menu with paired drinks. You will not be disappointed. Fred, the owner and chef, works in his open kitchen, swiftly and efficiently,...and when the food is delivered, he explains the dish as it’s presented and also describes the parings and why they complement each dish. A true gem of a fresh fish restaurant inLooe, it’s rare to find dishes on a menu that you can’t cook for yourself, and they set your taste buds alight. A friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and a chef who clearly loves to cook food for those who appreciate good quality food.More

I don't think words can really describe the most fantastic food experience you will have if you visit The Fish Market. Every single mouthful is delicious and the chef/owner is so humble. We never miss booking this restaurant on our annual Looe visit.

Awesome fish fest. Visited for the second time and did not disappoint. Amazing, freshly sourced , freshly cooked seafood and sides that are in season. Must have ‘Fred’s Spuds’ as everyone has previously reviewed. Our favourite top ‘plaice’ to eat in Looe. Well done again,...Fred and the team.More

Lovely lady Emma served us. we asked how many scallops came in dish and was told x3. When the dish arrived there was just x2 scallops for £18…. 2x large prawns for £12…. Service was terribly so considering only 1 other table in. Overpriced, so...sorry can’t recommend or return…More

Myself and a good friend booked at table for 1pm Saturday the 21st of October. Emma welcomed me outside the restaurant and gave me two menus for me and my friend. She was a lovely happy lady and even took my large suitcase on wheels...and found a place for it next to our table and also at the end of the dining experience got it and gave it back to us outside the restaurant. We both really enjoyed the meal as Fred the owner and Chef worked hard in the kitchen and produced some lovely quality food. The only let down was when we got the bill and I had added a tip to the bill because No Service is included in the final bill. But when we received the bill the turbot we had that was lovely and fresh the price was £24 and not £18 like it said on that days menu. The bill come to £68.80 that was for two drinks and we had four tapas dishes and shared them. The food was lovely but the bill was wrong….!More

My mum and dad came earlier in the year and raved about the fish market. We came back to Looe with them in October and of course booked to see what the fuss was. We can confirm this has been the best meal we’ve had...in Cornwall, in fact, best meal we’ve had in a really long time! Insanely good food, portions are spot on, everything is so fresh and creative. Wine was delicious, service was spot on. If you’re a keen foodie who loves fish, then this is the place for you. Would absolutely return.More

An amazing meal at the Fish Market, for my husband mum and myself. As always the food was delicious and freshly cooked (and caught). We had a variety of dishes, lobster, scallops, prawns, mixed seafood, flatbread and the best olives I have ever tasted! I...am not a pudding person, but the 4 puddings the 3 of us shared were delicious!More

Lovely little restaurant ! Unpretentious but fabulous cooking which restored my faith in restaurant visiting. 2 small plates each of beautifully fresh seafood and 2 sides ( Fred’s spuds are unmissable ) left us full but feeling greedy, we managed a delicious lemon posset between...us. Interesting wine list too. Staff were attentive and efficient and we felt our bill was good value for the standard of the food and drinks. I can’t wait to return and will go back to Looe especially to go there. Thanks all !More

Fred and his awesome team never fail to knock it out of the park when it comes to their exquisite fish tapas / small plates, immaculate presentation and friendly service. As locals, we’ve visited many times since they opened for business, and it’s one of...our favourite places to dine in town. Returning time and time again for our fish-kick. It’s a relaxed, informal, intimate dining experience - situated right on the harbour front so you can soak up that stunner of a view. Fred, very focused on quality, freshness and sustainability, sources most of his produce from our local waters and does his upmost to work with what’s available. His flair and obvious passion for producing well executed dishes with maximum flavour, without overpowering the delicate fish, is evident in each mouth watering bite. If that wasn’t enough, his amazing front of house team are there to greet you with a smile, some friendly banter and offer great recommendations on wine pairing - of which they have many options - again doing their best to spot light local artisan makers. Always uncompromising, always amazing, and if you adore exceptional fresh fish tapas, you’ll be in awe of this little gem of a restaurant, and its cheeky chef / owner Fred. P.s. you can’t dine here without ordering a side of Fred’s spuds - amazeballs 👌More

An amazing fish restaurant! Food is served as small plates so between 2 of us we tried 4 different fish dishes and 2 sides. All the fish is caught locally and each dish is cooked differently. Super friendly staff and lovely cosy atmosphere. I highly...recommend this restaurant and I look forward to returning soon.More
