We read this was good and booked a table. It was fantastic, and the rating system cannot do it justice. The service was excellent an the food was divine. Even my 12 year old son was impressed. It was hard to decide which was the best meal. Each dish of carefully thought through and crafted to maximise the flavours. I... More

Last day of our holiday, 5 booked into Squid Ink - had heard it was under new management and a new chef. We were not disappointed - the food was superb and we had a wonderful evening.

We called on spec & were very well looked after. The food was excellent, although a little pricey. Wine and beer was very good and reasonably priced. All in all a good night.

We have been coming to Looe for our summer holiday for the past 12 years. After finding the Squid Ink several years ago it has been a regular part of our holiday. I was slightly concerned that it had recently changed ownership but I can confidently say my reservations were unfounded. The service was impeccable, the delicious food of extremely... More

Fantastic quality food, staff helpful and friendly. It'll be tough to visit anywhere else when we're next visiting Looe.

Lovely restaurant with relaxed atmosphere but top end service and food. One for a special occasion or holiday treat and well worth the extra expense compared with other options available in Looe.

Excellent fish menu, cooked superbly, great wine list, and tremendous service, attentive but not overbearing. I had the Gurnard and the John Dory, both excellent, my wife had the crab starter, really good to and then the duck which was unnecessarily over complicated. Great selection of cheese. All round very good.

Every single mouthful was a delight. Really fantastic. Service excellent. Only slight downside was that it slightly warm / hot inside. Needs some fans!

Loved this restaurant. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked fish and amazing puddings. The chef went out of his way to accommodate one of our party who had various intolerances. The waitresses were very efficient. Will certainly go again.

Description
Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 32 cover restaurant is owned by Looe resident Adrian Woodward and first opened in 2008. The restaurant itself is housed within a character filled period building dating back more than 300 years.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish.We are committed to offering outstanding service and our menu includes dishes suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as seafood, gluten or dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.
