Lively and interesting restaurant and bar by the canal in Chester located in an old mill / warehouse building. We were looking for something straightforward to eat - a pizza and a beer, and what was provided was exactly right. Service was efficient and we had a most enjoyable time

The food and service here were great, I had the rump steak followed by the fig and date sticky toffee pudding. Felt relaxed and comfortable eating here on my own. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Food very good, as was the general service, only downside being the large amount of ice put in my drink without asking, very poor.

In Chester for a conference. Writing review whilst still in restaurant. Just had a lovely meal ruined by the foul mouth of one of the staff to a young waitress. Whilst sat within hearing distance a guy with grey hair and a beard has just given a torrent of abuse behind the bar to this poor young girl. Using language... More

Had the Monday 2 for 1 pizza offer. Asked for a slight change to topping on one which posed no problem. Really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely location and interior (except plastic chairs were out of character but were comfy). Would go again when visiting Chester.

A favourite place of ours but we hadn't been for a while. Quick visit for lunch and we weren't disappointed. Superb food as always. Excellent drinks selection with great draft and bottled beers and a stupendous gin selection. Both the owners are real characters and quite mad! If you're visiting Chester you have to visit Artichoke!!

Thank Dougie L
