Great location and building, we sat out the front in the garden that overlooks the drive and the car park. The view was really nice, helped by it being a warm evening. The food was really good quality, quantities were ample and the service was good for how busy the place was, we were in a large group which wasn't... More

Spot on!! This is a beautiful location, it also serves great food which is fresh and home grown and the staff are polite and friendly, we originally tried to book the grosvenor arms Aldford but it was booked up, so booked the Cheshire Cat and to be honest it is on a par with the grosvenor, we only live around... Not great. My husband and I decided to try the menu here as it sounded fantastic. The food was disappointing - small portions, and poor quality. Such a shame as the venue is lovely for a sunny lunch out. We won't be eating her again :(

We stayed here for one night whilst attending a family Wedding Reception within the area. We were greeted by the manager who was very friendly and explained the services available. Our booking included a continental breakfast which we weren't aware of which was a nice bonus. You also have the option to upgrade to a full English breakfast for £6.95... More

Had Sunday lunch today. Really attractive setting with great view. Staff friendly and professional, food good enough but we've had better Sunday lunches - soft roasts, tomato based gravy!, warm not hot when it got to table. Starters well received and puddings tasty . Waitress Ellie was great and very amenable, wine good. £70 per couple for three courses, coffee... More

It is a couple of years since I was last at the Cheshire Cat and I was a little disappointed this time around. I had the light meal of a Kedgeree Fishcake and my friend had the Risotto - both of which could have been better. The fishcake was just like those I cook at home - slightly burnt! The... More

Lovely meal this evening. Walked along the canal as we were staying at the Mercure. Had the sharing platter to start which was delicious- seafood cocktail, garlic mushrooms, 2 types of pate and crusty bread. Onto the mains which were delicious, plentiful and well presented. Duck Supper which had a whisky marmalade glaze and was served with a hasselback jacket... More

We arrived at a very busy time but the manager found us a table for four in an airy part of the pub. The menu had something for everyone and even on a busy night the food came promptly. The kids were given a quiz and colouring book which kept them happy. It was lovely to see the pub have... More

Spur of the moment meal out. We were visiting Christleton, Chester after having a shopping trip in Chester. We happened to b there at lunchtime so had a walk along the canalside which is very attractive before our lunch.

We met here on our monthly meet up some ex work colleagues, food was excellent just very small portions. I ordered a side salad at £2.50 the smallest bowl of salad you have ever seen and the tiny bowl of chips, lack of garnish on the the plate. Sinead our server was excellent, but like all restaurants these days lots... More
