I spent almost £40 ordering through Uber eats, albeit the order arrived soon but unfortunately only half of it! Had 2 items missing so I rang the restaurant asking for the missing food to be delivered; after the first phone call where it was rudely cut off on their end we called back and after a long and tedious call where he was calling me wrong and refusing to help, it was agreed they were in fact in the wrong and it would be brought to us. Half an hour later we’ve still received nothing so rang back and again was spoken to very abruptly and they didn’t help whatsoever. No food is worth this type of customer service.

Good food at sensible prices

Six of us arrived around 8.30 pm knowing that under new rules we had to leave by 10.00 pm. The restaurant (which would normally be busy later in the evening) was quiet, our orders were taken quite quickly and the food served in good time for us to enjoy it at our leisure. Everyone had a different main dish and all agreed that the food was very good.

Very average and that's pushing it

Attended the Sunday buffet and came away hungry. Despite few people in, kept having to wait for things "topping up". The curries were nearly all sauce with very little meat. Nothing seemed to be kept warm. Coke we ordered was Rola Cola out of a 2 litre bottle from shop and charged at £2.50 a glass. Staff not interested

Tasteless

Having eaten Indian cuisine for over 30 years I’ve got to say this was the most tasteless bland meal I’ve Ever eaten. Chicken madras sag was drowned in oil , the spinach was poor . The keema rice was reheated like Chinese day after food, keema naan was about the only highlight.But hey Tx to the waiter who took 90% of the meal back and took £4 off the £44 bill . Avoid at all costs.

The worst curry I’ve ever had!

First of all I’d like to say the service at Chester Tandoori is fine and we were seated very quickly. However that’s where the quality ends. The starters took ages to arrive, my naan bread was clap cold and no garlic in sight even though we had ordered a garlic one and the pilau rice was anaemic. We got chicken Tikka even though we had ordered standard chicken and both our balti dishes were mild even though we had ordered them madras hot. There was no garlic, coriander or basically any anything else in the the sauce to give it flavour and tasted like it was straight from a jar but only worse. To top it all off they charged for two garlic naans even though the they were meant to come with the dish and certainly had no garlic on them! BE WARNED!!!

Food ok, customer service outragous!

Food was ok for 11pm on a saturday night. The waiter had a habit of taking your plate away whilst you were eating your starters. When the bill came we were massivelly overcharged and questioned it, the price was recalculated infront of us with a 'knowing smirk' On the plus side, it wasn't to busy and you''ll find a table.

Fantastic food and customer service

Visited Saturday evening just gone with my wife as we have been many times for family meals and really enjoyed the experience. First of all the restaurant was spotless which was great after all the covid issues and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The meal was absolutely beautiful freshly cooked and prepared, both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every course and the price was so reasonable for a city centre restaurant I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning again soon

Expensive and tasteless

We ordered starters and mains which cost £45 and the food was tasteless with no resemblance of any Indian I have ever had. No spice, no substance and meat dry and chewy. Worst meal I can recall ever having. Don't waste your money!!

Only two of us there ordering a takeaway, he took my order four times as kept coming back to ask what it was (three items). The rice was okay that's pretty much all I can say. The curry was curdled and had the grant total of four bits of meat. Safe to say we won't be returning in a hurry sadly

Fabulous meal

Absolutely brilliant service and hot tasty food would highly recommend . The staff were very attentive and we felt very safe during our visit.we were on a overnight stay in Chester and found this restaurant by simply walking past .

Ordered here as a takeaway...wouldn’t do it again!

Ordered here as a takeaway, food was really bad it was inedible and we had to order from somewhere else. Thadka Dhal might as well have been warm water as it was tasteless and watery. Madras was the same, tasteless and watery. Pretty much all the food was tasteless. I wouldn’t usually write such a bad review for an independent restaurant but when we called them to say we weren’t happy, they told us I hadn’t ordered from there and I was wrong and kept interrupting when giving the details of my order and address so not entirely convinced they even new what my order was and gave the excuse my food wasn’t from them. I won’t bother again....had they listened to me and the customer service been better I would have walked away quietly but when you treat a customer so badly then it’s worthy of a bad review!

So disappointed

We went to the Sunday buffet and yes you get what you pay for at 9.95 per person but was so disappointed. When we arrived we were sat at a table with marks on the table cloth, the cutlery was strewn everywhere and there were no napkins. The buffet food was bland and lukewarm with little choice, curries were mainly sauce with little meat. We didn’t stay long as food was not really edible, they brought the bill and then shoved the card machine in my partners face, really poor customer service, please don’t waste £10 on this mediocre unfriendly restaurant.

Let me please start by saying I have had previous positive experiences at the restaraunt However, due to my experience today I would not return and would not recommend to others. I am a member of the Tastecard scheme which is a paid subscription and allows discounts at some restaraunts who have CHOSEN to subscribe. When we arrived here tonight, the restaraunt was less than half full. When I asked if they still subscribed to tastecard, I was shouted at ( unsure what was said) and the member of staff turned to a colleague and told him that we were not to be served. I have genuinely not experienced that kind of rudeness before with no explanation hence the fact I would never return here. When we have been previously the food has been average, hence the fact I am happy to pay discounted prices but would not pay full price when there are better restaurants in close proximity. Sorry to post negatively but no need for what I have experienced today, if you don't want to be part of the scheme then unsubscribe but no need for rudeness....manners cost nothing at the end of the day.

Rubbish takeaway

Ordered a takeaway from here, and it is one of the worst indian takeaway’s I have ever had. The egg fried rice wasn’t even egg fried rice, it was boiled rice with some egg chucked in and had no flavour at all, it was inedible. My other half had the korma and pilau rice which was also tasteless. The only good part to the meal was the samosas which had some flavour to them. Unlike anything else, it was awful. Would not recommend to anyone.

Worst Indian of my life.

Possibly the worst Indian takeaway I've had. What a joke. Brown water labelled as Madras, no taste, no thickness just dreadful. Chicken Tikka - 4 tiny pieces of chicken and a mass of boiled onion, no colour, no taste, bland. But all that was Michelin star in comparison with the Tarka dall. I'm lost for words on how to describe that, runner than water and with less flavour. Honestly this restaurant should be embarrassed that they let that sorry excuse for a meal leave their premises. £56 too! Tried to call them, what a waste of my time. Denied even getting an order from us, have left the same review against the order on deliveroo.
