Visited the Simon Radley restaurant for the tasting menu. The experience was excellent. Fantastic service, very nice food and the bread selection was like nothing we have experienced before. My only regret is that having had the tasting menu I was not able to sample the fantastic selection of cheeses that I had been admiring all evening. I am sure... More

Once a month myself and friends visit the Grosvenor for afternoon lunch. A fantastic place. However the past few times the service when trying to order a drink and food have been appalling. The past 3 times we've grinned and beared it. One for example. We've just finished our drinks and lunch, and 40 minutes of waiting after finishing our... More

My husband and I visited Simon Radley's this week to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was perfect. All staff were friendly, the restaurant is beautiful and felt very relaxing, the choice of drinks is fantastic and the tasting menu was exceptional. The staffs attention to detail is something I've never experienced anywhere else and we cannot wait to return!

What a fantastic 8 course taster menu we where served in a beautiful room with great atmosphere. From arriving to having our coffee & petite fours in the lounge the service was attentive but not overpowering and the sommelier advised us on a lovely wine to accompany the meal. The only criticism for me was the pigeon leg on the... More

I went for dinner with two old friends, one of whom is slightly deaf and specified that I must choose a restaurant quiet enough for him to be able to enjoy a conversation. I could think of nowhere better in Chester than Simon Radley, which has soft furnishings, no background music, and the quietly reverent atmosphere of a great cathedral.... More

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, it was our second visit. From the moment you get there you are looked after by the staff, some of whom were there the last time we went which was lovely. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about the restaurant. All the staff work exceptionally hard, even the ones you don't see to... More

There’s much to like about the restaurant. There’s a nice bar to sit and have a drink while you read the menu and scoff the nibbles. The chairs in the restaurant itself are comfy. Staff are both efficient and friendly – a tricky combination to achieve when you’re quite a formal restaurant. And there’s an interesting menu. Now, that’s “interesting”... More

My wife and I had the taster menu on Saturday 27th of August which was an explosion of flavours. The experience starts in the lounge with some stunning little tasters. The restaurant area is very well presented with the most comfortable chairs ever. Pre amuse buche is the normal bread .... Or so you would think !!! This is no... More

The summer 8-course taster menu has to be one of the best meals I have ever eaten - a wonderful experience. The food was totally delicious, with some very unusual and interesting flavours and superb presentation(no spoilers - you have to try it for yourself!). We celebrated a special occasion here and felt very well taken care of by the... More

Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, has held a Michelin star for nineteen years running surely a record outside of London. Under the direction of Executive Chef Simon Radley the exceptional modern British menu changes seasonally and uses only the finest ingredients. The cellar is also renowned, having one thousand bins and a sommelier of prodigious knowledge. The dining room itself is as dashing as you would expect with comfy chairs, oriental carpets, fine woods, original artwork, ebony pillars and many-layered tones of gold and taupe. The service is distinguished by its warmth and professionalism. Top marks.
