Though the name might conjure up images of dancing mussels, Chester’s Moules A Go-Go is a class act. Focusing on modern European-style cuisine, the restaurant is done up in rich, continental-style woods giving it a contemporary yet relaxed feel. Steak frites, fresh fish and rotisserie cooked meats all grace the a la carte menu, but you’d be foolish to miss some of the freshest mussels this side of the ocean. Brought fresh from the Anglesey cost, they’re freshly steamed in one of four ways: classique, mariniere, chorizo or green Thai cury. Friday and Saturday’s also sees the popular grilled lobster meals in, and a surf and turf with a rib eye steak and 1/2 a grilled lobster is a steal at £15.95.

Not just for seafood fans!

I've visited this restaurant on a number of occasions, and have always been happy with the quality of food & service. I'm actually not a fan of moules/mussels, but my dad is, and he attacks the 1kg serving with relish whenever we visit! The menu extends much further than just seafood, with a good... read more

Ate here on 29/1 for lunch in a party of 6. They are famous for mussels which are presented in variety of sauces. We tried the usual Mariniere sauce and also the Hanoi ( chilli and coriander) and also the Goan curry sauce, all were excellent. A bottle of very chilled rose wine washed it all down very nicely. All... More

Visited for a Friday evening meal. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. The noise levels increased as the tables filled up so not the place for a quiet meal if that's what you want

I have never had Mussels till tonight and these were amazing. We had the Anglesey and Marinieres. The garlic bread was morish and the seafood linguine sublime. So many flavours. Can't wait to revisit. Great wine and great service.

One of my favourite places to eat in Chester. Been eating here for over ten years and never had a bad experience. Not an overly extensive menu but something for everyone. The varieties of moules are exceptional with staff providing advice not only on selections but also, when asked, about the quality and seasonal variation of mussels. The desserts are... More

Must try their Mussels set with homemade wine. RECOMMEND classique favor! The seafood is so fresh and tasty. The price is reasonable and good for value. Upstair tables are available for big group customers. It has been always popular, especially when there is horse race competition.

It is always good to have fantastic food like mussels. There are different favors available, I recommend Anglesey and Classique! They are more fit for oriental people. The staff here is friendly and helpful, We had it when I am pregnant so I asked no alcohol before cook. The waiting time is relatively long so order you a starter! Overall,... More

We've eaten mussels here a few times now and it's always the same - great good at very fair prices, friendly staff who serve with a smile and a clean, comfortable dining area. The other dishes (burgers, steaks etc) always look great although we go for the. Mussels. What's not to like ?
