Having got settled around a table, we soon decided that we would enjoy a glass of wine and continue our day in the comfort of this pleasant pub. The choices on the food menu convinced us to stay and eat.... More

We have been visiting this pub for many years now and it never disappoints. Cosy, charming and traditional, roaring fire and real ale. We moved away from Chester almost 10 years ago (this place is special to us we had our civil partnership here on the top floor and were pleased to see Alex is still managing the place as... More

During our day visit to Chester we decided to stay for dinner. The building is from 1664 so immediately I wanted to check it. The place is very comfy, food is very good and price reasonable. We had the fish and chips which was very good. Quite a few selection of beers!
