Lovely traditional pub with friendly bar staff and log fire! We didn't eat here but nice place to stop off for a drink. Good selection of spirits and real ales.

Excellent service, lovely pub grub, although a little on the expensive side. Right in the middle of chester near to the river. Would recommend this place. Not the first time I've been here and won't be the last.

Looking on line for somewhere in Chester for my birthday lunch. The online menu ticked the wife and mine's boxes, and we remember Terry Wogan visiting with his taxi driver and it looked good. However when we looked at the menus on the tables, the dishes we fancied wern't there and nothing else appealed. So we ate elsewhere. Come on... More

It was mid-afternoon and time to eat, and we chose Bear & Billet pub. Near the river, this is an excellent location for the sightseer. Being unaccustomed to pub etiquette, I asked the helpful bar man, Matt, who then guided us through the how's and served us extremely well, taking every consideration. The food tasted great and the atmosphere was... More

Located in a magnificent building, the bear and billet pub offer a very good selection of artisan beers and ale. The service is courteous and the food menu will match the requirements of your average family: freshly made vegetable soup, local specialties (bull & cocq), lasagna and even burrito. Waiters attentive and full of chat. Love to go back

The Bear & Billet is a terrific 3 storie pub located inside the walled city of Chester which was owned by the Earl of Shrewsbury & built in 1664. The Bear & Billet offers a great friendly place to enjoy food and drink. We have a wide selection of cask ales and well as draught and bottled beers from around the world. We have a full homecoo0ked food menu available everyday day with Sunday lunch available every Sunday from 12pm-7pm.

Not only that we have function rooms available for hire as well as live sport shown throughout the year with 5 flat screen T. V's available on 3 floors.
