I think you an tell how good somewhere is by the burgers. It's often over looked and some times little effort it put in. There are quite a few places in Chester selling burgers But I think the bear and billet serve a great burger. I have only had the classic, but it's a good size. Well prepared with bacon,... More

This is a really friendly pub selling real ales and good food. For those interested in football they have numerous rooms were they can show more than one match. I had one of the burgers from the menu which was homemade and delicious.

We came across this pub on a cold Saturday and found it really welcoming, fab roaring fire. We read that the pub quiz was on the next night & went back for that too. Very friendly and the free sarnies at half time were a treat, didn't win but enjoyed the taking part :)

One of the few dog friendly pubs in Chester (that we found). Spent a few enjoyable hours the other evening in this warm, friendly pub. Only drinks, but the food being served looked very nice. Sat by the fire on this chilly evening, the dog nestled under the table and a couple of pints of real ale....a perfect evening...

Visited this establishment on Tuesday 2nd November, for a meal with friends. Looking at the menu, I chose The Posh Corned beef hash, which was topped with a fried egg, making the meal very appetising on the whole. Very nice pub on the whole, was my initial reaction to the place.

I ate here last night with a friend. Had a great table by the roaring fire and got cosy. Kicked off with a spicy bloody mary made by Alex, perfect! I had the steak, fries the works and it was all cooked to perfection. My friend had the chilli and said it was gorgeous. With 50%off on a thursday through... More

We went into the historic pub to watch the rugby and have some food. It was so cosy and welcoming. I loved the Halloween decorations. We sat upstairs and there was plenty of room. I had the brie and cranberry baguette which was delicious. I loved the chunky chips. Our friends had tortillas with pulled pork. It looked lovely. The... More

We have a full homecoo0ked food menu available everyday day with Sunday lunch available every Sunday from 12pm-7pm.
