About
A warm Guernsey welcome awaits you at the Old Quarter Restaurant from Paddy, Dana and the staff. This is honest, no nonsense food with a slight Irish slant as you would only expect from Paddy's home roots. The Restaurant prides itself on using as much locally sourced ingredients as possible; fresh from the land and the sea the taste of Guernsey comes out in every dish. Paddy and the team are keen to show off the best of what Guernsey has on offer each season and the menu changes to reflect this. Our cosy restaurant caters for parties up to fifty people, so whether its a business meeting over lunch or an intimate dinner for two we will always do everything to meet your expectations. We are also very flexible with our menus and happy to adapt to your needs where possible. You will find us at the centre of the Old Quarter among a mixture of antique dealers, art gallery's, craft shops, fashion boutiques and unique privately run shops of all types and descriptions. With its narrow cobbled streets it really is like going back in time to what most of the town of St Peter Port once looked like, but with a modern twist of quaint little shops. Any stroll around town is not complete without a trip up Mill and Mansell Street, why not cap it off with a light lunch or and early evening meal.

I went with a few friends last week for an early dinner. The decor is a bit bright, but hey you go to a restaurant to eat food, right? The early dinner menu is great value, not sure how they do it for the price.
Excellent spicy beef linguini to start, followed by slow cooked bacon and colcannon, sooo tender. Make sure you leave room for dessert, I loved
the poached pears.
We all had something different from the menu, empty plates and happy diners all round.
Friendly staff and all for £15.95 for 3 courses. It's a mystery why the restaurant isn't busier, put it down to the post Christmas lull I guess.
Thanks for a great dinner.

As always Paddy (it really is his name) was as welcoming as we have come to expect. We had just decided to go there for the "early bird" menu and it did not disappoint. I had bacon with colcannon, my son-in-law went for chilli sausage. My wife and daughter had the chicken breast. We all left feeling slightly stuffed and more than pleased.

First of all as a trained chef I won’t hold back in my praise or criticism if the food is poor, ill cooked or of low value. Well this restaurant is a absolute hidden gem we stumbled upon my chance. Paddy the chef is a true fellow Gastonaught, a magnificent Chef who takes pride in his craft the food was fresh cooked beautifully and most of all delicious. Great value for money the service was fantastic and it’s nice to see the actual Chef asking his patrons what they thought of the food. The ambiance is great and for £60 we got a two course meal that was on par with any London restaurant. Well done Paddy we will definitely dine there again it’s a gastronomic experience that is without doubt one of the best ever in my 40 years of Cheffing.

My partner and I were visiting from the Isle of Man and booked an evening meal in here after reading excellent reviews about it. I am so glad we did! From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a friendly waiter who was very good at his job and actually suggested my partner had deep fried courgette instead of spinach with his meal which was absolutely gorgeous. For starters I had bacon & asparagus salad and my partner had fish soup which he said was the best he'd ever eaten. For mains I had slightly spiced scallops which came with a good portion of new potatoes and my partner had medallions of fillet on a bed of champ. Both meals were one of the best we'd ever had and the flavours were just amazing! The chef (who manages the restaurant) came down at the end of the evening to see if everything was okay and ended up talking to us for about half an hour. What a lovely man he is. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough and would certainly recommend. You will not be disappointed!

Wandering through the "Old Quarter" of St.Peter Port,we found the Old Quarter Restaurant.Looking at its 3 course special meal advertized,it looked tasty and very reasonably priced, seemed too good to be true, with a choice of 5 dishes on each course, only £17.95 each!
We booked for night after and were not disappointed!
Soup for my wife,me cheesy wedges for starters, mains we had grilled fish and chicken dish, both with all trimmings, both sticky toffee pudding desert. Couldn't fault the portions, couldn't fault the cookery skills, the taste or the service, not rushed between courses, absolutely "spot on".
Also has an "ordinary menu"for those who don't a 3 courser!

We booked a table for two at 7.30 on a Tuesday evening . There were already several other diners. Our waitresses were friendly and the food was good and arrived at a nice pace- not too fast and not too slow. I chose the fresh crab salad which looked amazing with an avocado mousse on top. (£9.95) To be really picky it tasted over seasoned and didn't need the fried onion on top of it. I followed it with Guernsey scallops. A big plate of a dozen nicely cooked scallops for £19.95 but again their delicate flavour was swamped with too much seasoning and the oil they had been cooked in didn't taste fresh so overall disappointing. My husband went for the £17.95 set menu and was extremely happy with it. We chatted with Paddy at the end of the evening. He is a thoroughly decent guy who deserves all his success.

The most heavenly steak and sticky toffee dessert in a delightful family restaurant, with personalised service. What a contrast to two nights before at Octopus! Real cuisine and service. The only disappointing feature was being charged 3.5 quid for bread with the wine, when bread is a general expectation before a meal in France- we don't need the huge wasteful dish of Guernsey butter- nice though it is. The onion ring starter was undersize and underwhelming, but for a 17.95 set menu, it was excellent overall.

Although a little out of the way along a pedestrianised street this restaurant is definitely a place to visit. From entering into a bright cheerful establishment and the very warm welcome to departure the attention to our pleasure from the amiable staff was second to none without being overpowering.
The menu was interesting and our food was fabulous, excellently washed down with a bottle of the house red.
Thank you for a most excellent evening. We will return.

Shocking treatment, booked a table for 4 on 29/12/22 for 6pm got a email confirmation and was also asked for contact number for us as we booked while in the uk . All good and sorted so we thought , got to Guernsey and taking our friends out for a thank you
Meal to find it shut ??? Managed to talk to a member of staff , who confirmed themselves that they were confused as our booking was in the book but they had been told by the owners Paddy they were shut tonight !!!
Very poor service as a phone call to us could have prevented a embarrassing situation for us and our friends that live in Guernsey . Very sloppy and poor customer service . We used this restaurant a lot in the past when visiting and living in Guernsey but this treatment had probably stopped that now .

Fantastict food menu and the 3 course menu Mon-Thurs is great value! Really enjoyable food and no rush between courses was really appreciated and made the meal enjoyable. Chef couldn't do enough for our little boy and even sourced baked beans to have on his cheesey wedges starter! Staff were attentitive and the ambience was really relaxed and chilled. Definitely worth a visit!

Our first visit having made a booking when walking by found it full with just a table for 2 vacant which was ours. There was a large party of 12/14 and a smaller birthday party taking place so a lively atmosphere.
Had the Scallops wrapped in bacon for a starter and Brill for main course. Both excellent but do prefer plain Scallops. Wife had Fish and chips for her main(Forgot what starter!) She also had a desert while I just had another wine.
Our second visit found it almost full again and two parties taking place-a 50th and 60th so again a good atmosphere. These were sharing the same table.
This time we both had the soup for starters which was very good and whilst my wife had another starter of potato wedges for her main I had Scallops-I think there were 12!! Excellent meal and wife had a desert. Total for meals under £50.
To finish the excellent evening we were offered and accepted a portion each of the birthday cake.
Paddy, as usual came around the tables.
Never had a complaint here at all as the service, food and drinks are excellent.
We will be back on our next visit.

This was out first trip to Guernsey and having done our research, this gem of a restaurant exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent, the food outstanding with the restaurant catering for my gluten free needs and the actual restaurant was so welcoming and warm you simply did not want to leave!
Thank you Paddy and the team for making our first evening in Guernsey so memorable. We will see you next time!

The evening meal was delicious, you can really sense the chef putting tons of effort into each dish. Service good with a smile.
Negatives were that a three-course kids menu cost £15 each, and half of Moretti was £5 per glass. We've dined out elsewhere in St Peter's Port and had kids menus for just over half that price, and a pint of Moretti for the same price as their half.
Sort out this, and we'd be back.

Lovely welcome by the staff.
The starter of homemade soda bread with chicken pate and Guernsey butter was fabulous.
Then a lovely piece of brill with crushed potatoes and wok veg.
Finally, a baileys cheesecake which was too rich and soft for me.
