This was our first visit to Saltwater, it having been recommended by a friend, and it certainly didn't disappoint. My telephone booking was handle professionally by a friendly voice, we were greeted warmly on arrival and from then on everything was just what you would hope for: friendly, efficient service, pleasant ambience, good food and wine, all at a very reasonable price for high the standards. (Our only grumble would be the level of the music from the numerous loud-speakers which we found just a bit intrusive, rather than background music.) However, a very pleasant experience all round. Five stars and we'll be back!

I had Sunday lunch here, only their second day back after 3 months closed. Sunday was a beautiful sunny day and I eat on the terrace in a lovely atmosphere where everyone customers and staff alike were just pleased to be there.
The setting is perfect, if you’ve never been you have to come and see this setting. I ordered a traditional Sunday roast, roast beef and veg. It was superb, cooked to perfection and delicious, enough for the biggest of eaters.
Excellent friendly service as always. Well done Saltwater!

We popped in for a drink one morning when cycling around the island and it was such a lovely location that we booked lunch the following week and were not disappointed. It was a lovely sunny, calm day and we were spoilt for choice with the excellent menu. Everything was delicious with the battered fish and chips shining through and the drinks served wonderfully cold. The view of the islands, sea and boats is beautiful, there is no traffic so it is very peaceful and there is a great atmosphere and great service.

A super restaurant during the summer with stunning views over the islands and Beaucette Marina, its long been a favourite of the al fresco crowd for lunch or dinner in the sun. This is its unique selling point.
We visited the restaurant for an early bird Tennerfest Menu on Thursday evening 14th October as a family of three. We were there between 1800 to 1930 and the restaurant approximately 30% full withe early diners and some customers drinking at the bar.
The wine (we tried the house Pinot Noir by the glass) was very good for a house red. Smooth and full bodied with little tannin after taste residue. Possibly one of the best we have had during this year's Tennerfest season, to date.
Food presentation was excellent, so was the fare, temperature, construction and the taste. Cooked well and delivered in a timely fashion.
The Tennerfest Menu has two courses at £17.50 and three at £20. Quite the norm.
If you want additional vegetables or potatoes there is an additional list on the Tennerfest Menu which costs over £4 per serving. We chose the Tempura Courgette Chips which came at £4.50, very good and enough for two people.
In addition to this we had a small bottle of Stella Artois @ £4.60 and a bottle of sparkling water £4+, a breadbasket was £4
A warm, attentive and communicative atmosphere during service would enhance the overall customer experience, with specific attention to detail during the ordering process. Inside is very open and fresh however that distracts the benefit of the location when it is under occupied.
In summary, the food and wine were good, the charges were very expensive for this type of dining experience. Our final bill for a short early bird came to £90.70. We enjoyed the experience but it is unlikely to make our favourites list.

Thank you very much for this in-depth review, which we will need to however straighten just a bit.
First of all we do not offer early bird menu - neither for Tennerfest, nor for a la carte diners. These are the only two menus we have on offer and the pricing stays exactly the same throughout the whole evening, whether it's a 6pm or 8pm sitting.
All dishes are complete, however there's always an option of extra sides guests are welcomed to add to their meal. It's a choice not a necessity and priced as per a la carte menu.
As for the bread basket - it is a complementary option for a la carte diners, while guests choosing Tennerfest alternative are charged for this addition simply due to the fact that it's a supplementary course to their chosen set meal.
One more correction on the drinks side - our bottled water is charged at £3.50 not as mentioned £4+
Just a note on behalf of any future establishments that might be reviewed by yourself - please check all the facts before posting your helpful comments.

We had a tennerfest meal here. The location is great if you are in the North of the Island and in the Summer the terrace is fantastic. Not quite so atmospheric in the dark winter months and we thought the tennerfest menu a bit limited and rather meagre on portions. The food itself was fine without being excellent which is a shame as I recall an excellent Summer lunch last year outside in the sunshine! Parking surprisingly limited with the restaurant sharing the car park with the marina and lots of seemingly permanently parked (?Planted) cars blocking access. Not much the restaurant can do about it, so not a criticism of the establishment at all. Overall we had a good evening without the food being excellent.

With the current situation and me having a cough we decided that despite wanting to go we just shouldnt. I called and asked if it was ok to collect our ordered Fruit De Mer as a take out. No Problem. We really wanted to support this local business, and support the fishermen, so the Fruits de Mer was the obvious choice. WOW. Amazing fresh local crab and lobster, oysters, moules and crevettes . They even boxed up our side order of fries fresh cooked, and gave me a bottle with our complementary glass of wine. It was all lovely, fresh, and tasty. Just do it and support local business. There were four tables occupied in the restaurant when I went to collect, all well apart, and all four looked very happy with lovely food

On a lovely sunny day we enjoyed aperole spritz on the beautiful terrace whilst looking through the menu, then moved inside once our lunch arrived which was fabulous with great service from the friendly staff. We felt spoilt and very chilled which was much needed during phase 4 of lockdown. We will definitely be returning.

I’m currently self isolating at home in Beaucette Marina, had a craving for Sunday lunch having been away for 2 weeks.
Saltwater restaurant kindly sent down a plate of Roast beef and all the trimmings.
Absolutely superb as always, beautifully cooked, still pipping hot.
Nothing is too much trouble for the new owners, keep up the great work.

If you are looking for seafood platters, look no more!
This is the place to be.
It’s well worth the 15 minute car journey from St Peter’s port.
You get to a small marina in an unspoilt coastal area. The business boasts great terrace and the restaurant is very comfortable.
Staff are very friendly and the service is great.
More importantly, the seafood platter (needs ordering with 24 hours notice) is well worth waiting for. Great quality fresh locally caught crab, lobster, prawns. The latter comes with generous helping of boiled potatoes, salad and sauces. You simply won’t be disappointed.
What are you waiting for! Stop reading and book!

The food was very nice and the staff very pleasant but the service was incredibly slow which was a little surprising given that the restaurant was not full and we got there very early. I had the squid and the roast beef which I was happy with but my husband’s moules were way too salty, (and we like a bit of salt). We mentioned it to the waiter who said he had told the chef but we did not get any comments back.

We've eaten at Saltwater several times over the last few months, given we live near by. The food is always excellent, and the vibe in the restaurant is relaxed, friendly, and welcoming. If you're heading there for lunch or an evening meal, make sure you have a drink outside on the terrace, overlooking the marina. Each time we have been the food cannot be faulted, and the staff are always warm and friendly. The only slight negative from my perspective, is sometimes the drinks service can be a little slow, and you need to seek out staff to order a drink. I do appreciate staffing levels in hospitality are challenging at the moment, but with that small tweak, it's a 5 star restaurant every day. Highly recommend going to Saltwater, whether living or visiting Guernsey.

Booked a table for a celebration wanted somewhere special, Saltwater came recommended so booked: arrived on time and taken to our table as requested by the window with a view of the marina. Ordered drinks, they came, about 20 minutes later the waitress took our Mains order, we didn’t have starters, we waited, ordered more drinks , people were seated after us, they received their starters within 10 minutes, still waiting for our meal, other people seated received their meal, still. Waited, it took an hour for our meal to come, our steaks were over done, we both asked for medium rare and both came well-done, we finished our meal about 9.15pm, we will not recommend and we will not be going back.
Ver6 disappointing indeed.

We are really sorry to hear that your evening at Saltwater was not as enjoyable as you would have liked. We are currently pushed for staff and sometimes service might be a little slower then usual. On your visit however we have had 2 large parties and every other guest was made aware of the situation and delays that might follow. In regards to your food - main courses take much longer to prepare and without ordering starters the wait might feel even longer. As for the meal itself - I have checked every table and in your case there were no complaints made about the steaks. It's difficult to rectify problems if they are not mentioned at the time.
We do hope you will try us again on another occasion.

We eat here fairly often and it is one of our favourite restaurants in Guernsey. Ambiance is pleasant, service is good if rather slow at times. They can definitely cook, with many nice 'chefy' touches which raise the standard above many Guernsey restaurants.
Only two things really deter us from eating here more often. One is the price, a three course meal for two including a moderate bottle of wine will not give you much change from £100. Secondly, they could do with a few more changes to the menu, either a 'specials' or seasonal menu would allow me to not be so boring and eat more or less the same thing every visit. I could order it now - smoked haddock chowder followed by the lamb cutlets - and very good it would be, but I enjoy a bit more variety so I need to go elsewhere!

We visited for lunch and dinner all of which was amazing. I notified them that my wife was Gluten Free and they adapted and recommended dishes without a fuss. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the service was relaxed. The food was just stunning and we had a great meal whilst watching the Red moon rise over the marina.

Really great Sunday lunch. I had the Salt & Pepper squid was lovely, very lightly cooked, tender. Followed by rare roast beef and a Banoffie pie to share. My partner had the scampi to start and roast lamb which was also very good.
We loved it, highly recommended.
Make sure you book.
