Went to these premises last night as have been for many years now, always good food and service. Food and service did not disappoint however have to say unlike Saturday night when you could not get a table several tables were empty, which my friend and I commented on, when we received the bill there was the answer has priced themselves out of the game really, will be sometime before we revisit such a shame. That’s the trouble when you have successful business model and then get greedy, normally backfires on you.

An excellent dinner this evening at the Auberge du Val - informal atmosphere and warm welcome from the owners. Great cooking: red mullet escabeche starter was fresh and flavoursome; perfect rare chateaubriand and duck with port and green peppercorn sauce mains; basque cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Helpful advice about the menu and wine choices. Will be returning soon.

We had trouble parking due to ongoing maintenance on the exterior of the auberge but the food was well worth the trouble.
It’s so refreshing to have different dishes on the menu instead of the same old burgers/ fries pizza etc that most menus today seem to consist of. I’m sure they’re popular but just not my first choice.
A tasty, well cooked and imaginative menu, outside seating in the courtyard on a sunny day, with great service, all in all a brilliant lunchtime treat.

An uncomfortable comment was made about food allergy although it had been notified in advance.
Strange menu. No one enjoyed their starters but main courses were overall good. Cheesecake was excellent.
Restaurant was lacking in atmosphere as very chilly and everyone became cold.
Disappointed as had heard good reviews and had been looking forward to going.

Went here because our hotel restaurant was closed...and glad we did! The food here is really excellent - tasty, stylish and satisfying. The prices are also pretty reasonable for the standard of the fare being served up. My main course of pork skewers was brilliantly judged, probably the best main course I have had this year. The service was also very friendly and prompt. Top marks.

I haven't been here for years but that will now change. 12 of us for a birthday dinner without a preorder. No problem, No long wait and all 12 served at the same time and allowing for all the different diets. Steak and chips was as good as anywhere i have been and everyone at the table was making contended noises. The owner , his wife and all the staff are charming and helpful. Its an atmospheric dining room and great courtyard. I know its a long way from town but well worth the effort!

I recently attended this restaurant for the first time for a group lunch.
Excellent service. Lovely ambiance. Great varied menu. However, for the calibre of the establishment I thought the chips with the fish and chips were a very substandard and poor quality in relation to all the other dishes that were presented. I know for a fact a better quality of ' chip' could have been presented with this meal option to comply with the standard of dishes on offer.

We enjoyed a superb night, the menu while not being extensive was sufficiently diverse to allow each of our party to find something that appealed. When the food arrived it did not disappoint indeed it exceeded expectations. The staff were attentive friendly but not intrusive.

Not been for a while and we’re certainly not disappointed. Food was excellent with a good and varied menu, well cooked and presented. Service was friendly and efficient, without being rushed. Atmosphere within the busy restaurant was great without being noisy. A very enjoyable evening.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. Annual post Christmas meal with the whole family and once again it didn't disappoint. Lovely warm welcome from this small, family run establishment. Food was exquisite and excellent service. A real homely, lavish restaurant. Roaring coal fire and cosy old Guernsey atmosphere. Perfect.

Wonderful evening with friends.
The food was superb, absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was warm and well coming. The service was attentive and very friendly. We were made so welcome.

What a pleasure to sit here. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside but it was a great experience nonetheless. Service good. Food really very good. Wines beautiful and a very nice location.

The location and setting, the fabulous staff who were so attentive and would have a quick chat in-between their busy serving..our meal was so good I savoured every mouthfuls of mine not wanting it to finish..make sure to book

We had dinner here last night We both had a super vegetarian dish consisting of chickpeas lentils courgettes feta cheese and beetroot it was so unusual and delicious. I had a lovely poached pair as a pudding .My freind had sardines as a starter A great menu with a great choice of wine .
