Our restaurant opened in 1996,we serve authentic bangladeshi food,we open for morning coffes from 10am to 12noon and have a special lunch menu from 12noon to 2pm.We open again from 6pm till 11pm and take oders for take aways also,we hope you will visit us when you visit our beautifull island Alderney which we and our island has to offer.2014 Winner of Certificate of Excellence.

After a long day of walking around Alderney, plus a couple of beers, we really fancied an Indian meal. Nellie Gray's provided an outstanding experience.
The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful, with plenty of chatter and humour, which made us feel very welcome. The food we ordered was well prepared and full of flavour. There were plenty of poppadoms and the Cobra beer was spot on.
If you happen to be visiting Alderney and you fancy something a little varied from all the other local restaurants, then I would recommend Nellie Grays.

Had such a great meal, we felt compelled to return! Staff delightful and very attentive and restaurant clearly very popular with Alderney residents as well as visitors. Prices are very reasonable. The Nellie Gray Special is one of the best chicken curries I have ever had. Amazing and pricing very reasonable.

The decor may not have changed in years, but the food remains tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the fish curry. We slightly over ordered but they happily packed it for us to take. Really friendly place that is well worth a visit to eat in or take out.

I love Nellie Gray's. Having in lived in India for several years I am fussy over my Indian cuisine but this place is excellent with great use of spices and a friendly staff. I have eaten in most places in Alderney and I rate this one as "number 1" by a short head. It is also one of only a few eateries in the island which really does vegetarians proud.

Very good food but very overpriced. Online the takeaway is cheaper but when actually coming to pick up takeaway it’s actually 3-4£ on every dish we had. Takeaway for two, two mains, mushroom rice, sagaloo, 4 poppodoms and a shared starter 56.70 :o. Why don’t they do a special price for takeaway? They would be very very busy. Thanks for our meal though it was very good

We stumbled across Nellie Gray's Indian Restaurant when staying in St Anne for a short break.
What a find! This is Indian cuisine at its best, and their chicken biryani was the best I've ever eaten. The menu was varied; the food (as you would expect) is all cooked on the premises from scratch, and the restaurant is warmly welcoming. We naturally put in a second appearance, even though we were only on Alderney for 4 nights!
A real treat. All our subsequent visits to Alderney will include a booking at Nellie Gray's.

Superb menu choice. The Seabass Takari is a Bangladeshi speciality and is amazing. The subtle flavours in the sauce did not hide the fresh seabass flavour and texture. The thin peshwari and fresh coconut filling was the best ever had at any India restaurant.Sag aloo was also the best ever had. Extremely friendly and warm welcome received. Cosy atmosphere. If you visit Alderney then Nelly Grays really is a must....you will not be disappointed.

This restuatant was awful.
The furniture and carpet were worn out and l fell through the chair when l sat down.
The poppadom’s were stale, the starter was cold and the main course curry had no sauce
All in all a very poor meal !!

Found the staff very helpful and courteous. The food was very tasty and the different dishes had their own taste not like some restaurants where it all tastes the same. The chicken tikka starter was half of fresh chicken and the Nellie's special was superb

Excellent curry house with lovely decor. Felt very traditional. We had a couple of their specials and they were lovely. Good spice variation so none of the ‘everything tastes the same’ that you get in some ‘English’ curry houses. Family all traditionally dressed so a real taste of the East.
Was recommended by locals and can see why.

Called in without booking and received a warm welcome. The place was quite busy but they had a table for us, straight away. The staff were really friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, really well cooked and presented. The lamb bhuna was one of the best I have ever had, perfectly spiced with lovely tender meat.
A really great Indian resaurant.

Disappointed with the quality of the food and the matter of fact service. One of us had chicken tikka masala which is a good test of an Indian restaurant's ability, and both the chicken and the sauce were very bland. Other meals also disappointed. I really don't understand how other reviewers could be impressed - perhaps their first Indian meal? - and I will certainly not be returning.

Visited with my son (11) during a long weekend in Alderney and so glad we came.
Warm greeting, lovely atmosphere, great service and outstanding food.
I am visiting Alderney from Guernsey and no stranger to eating curry all across the UK and will gladly say this was one of the best. The people of Alderney are very lucky!
We will definitely return, thank you 👍🏻

We had come 10 years ago, and very disappointed by the reception of the main waitress who was borderline odious... fortunately the other waiters were more pleasant and the food decent. I would have liked more "Indian" desserts instead of ice cream...

An excellent and delicious meal. The food was well cooked, tasty, flavoursome and felt like it was ‘cooked from scratch.’ A really fabulous meal with courteous friendly staff that was also great value.
