A most original menu which met up to all expectations. Strong French influence at its best with brilliant cheeses and wines. Very popular so important to book.

A special occasion needs a special location this is a our "local" Michelin starred restaurant. The evening was a combination of a sixtieth birthday and a wedding anniversary - we booked well in advance for a Saturday night, arriving just before our approinted time at 7.15pm, shown straight to table and immeadiately assured that they knew of the issues of... You'd think the service would be outstanding if you're having a private room, 13 friends and £20 g&t's, but at 'Midsummer House' we were sorely disappointed. We suspect the movie, 'The Riot Club' may have something to do with the service we received. The group of us were so closely monitored throughout the evening that there was an awkward atmosphere... Reviews here on TA were all over the place. Let me quickly say this is a fantastic restaurant and worthy of two Michelin stars. My wife and I and son attending Cambridge had a fabulous dinner. Service was amazing, the spacing between eight courses was not rushed at all, portions were generous (almost too big?) and my son and I... More

We ate at the restaurant on a Friday evening with real anticipation. The venue was pleasant and the theatre of the food and presentation was very strong. I particularly liked the champagne trolley where the champagne emerges from within. The staff were very strong and friendly with really professional service delivered with aplomb. So on the food. This was mostly... More

I could go on and on about how the food is but other people more qualified than me have talked about that already. I am just going to say that from the moment you step in the experience is AMAZING. Every course from the amuse bouche to the little chocolates at the and everything in between is a little amusement... More

This place was a surprising Internet-search find when we wanted to have a last minute business meeting. I suggested this restaurant to my business partner because of its ratings and much to my surprise they were able to accommodate us despite the late booking. We both had a 8-course menu with the French wine pairing. That was a great combination.... More
