We visited for my husbands birthday and were not disappointed. I have seen others reviewing as "expensive", but the old adage "you get what you pay for " is so true in this case. The whole experience, from booking, warmth of welcome from front of house, fantastic waiting staff, an incredibly knowledgeable sommelier and of course the food itself made... More

I was wondering just how good the food could be and if it could be worth the money. The answer is outstanding better than anything I've ever had before, the food is a work of art beautiful to look at, wonderful flavours and textures and a level of inventiveness and imagination I really wasn't expecting. The wine selection was similar... More

We have been trying some of the better Restaurants in the area and had been looking forward to visiting Midsummer House for quite some time. We booked for lunch and were warmly greeted when we arrived. The Restaurant is situated next to the banks of the River Cam in a Victorian House, the tables are set out in the Conservatory... More

This was our second visit to Midsummer house and was worried it wouldn't be as good as the first time. It was! The service was top notch, and the food was unbelievable best I have had in Britain and I have also eat at 3 star restaurants. Midsummer house is a 3 star restaurant in the making!

We have wanted to eat here for several years and my birthday gave us the excuse to do just that. It is right up there with the best of the best. Dinner is an eight course taster menu and there is a vegetarian taster menu as well. It is a very leisurely dining experience, with an emphasis on the experience.... More

The rave reviews suggested a gastronomic treasure; I found it deeply disappointing. First, one has to locate the restaurant at night on a darkened common. The 8-course tasting menu coyly omits the price--105 pounds, plus a mandatory service charge. For that price one might expect a memorable meal; instead, it is plain fare, well prepared but entirely lacking in creativity.... More

I have wanted to be able to write a review on here forever. Midsummer House is a restaurant I have dreamed of visiting and let me say, it did not disappoint. I went to the restaurant to celebrate my 21st birthday with a friend, we had the 8 course tasting menu. Upon arrival across Midsummer Common, there was a waitress... More

What a fantastic evening. We went to Midsummer House for good food and enjoyed great food. All four of us were extremely pleased with our 8 course tasting menu and it is well worth the price tag. The staff were very friendly and they mood was professional, but relaxed. I will definitely go again. Food was awesome.

We had a small wedding for 16 people and wanted to treat our guests to a meal of a lifetime. Throughout the process the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive and really made the entire process run so smoothly. We are so grateful to them. We contacted Midsummer House a few months in advance of our wedding... More

The 8 course menu gives great flavours and theatre. Staff are massively friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Wine excellent, offered a choice of champers on arrival £16 a glass on top of the set 8 course price, but no other way to start. The nibbles were extraordinary and a delight. The after dinner chocolates were a nice touch including a little... More
