My wife and I ate here over the weekend. The pub itself was a bit on the quiet side and lacked a bit of atmosphere. We also felt a bit rushed as the kitchen closed at 8pm and we were asked to get our orders in asap. The food is ok, It's pub food. I had the burger(£13). The salad... More

We stopped here on the spur of the moment after our car broke down! The staff were friendly, the pub itself has a lovely interior decor. The food was generous and very tasty!

Nice location, friendly staff, good selection of craft beers and of course wonderful Aspall Cyder. Sunday lunch menu was very conservative, hardly gastro, but good and tasty pub grub. Minor hiccup over limited choice of after dinner liquors, but manager made 3rd choice a double, which was a very nice gesture. So what let it down? - desserts starting at... More

Lovely pub, restaurant with large outdoor seating. Great gastro pub food. Fantastic friendly service. Cannot wait to go back in the winter when the log fire place is burning.

We visited yesterday for the second time. The previous visit was very pleasant but this time was not so good. My wife would have rated it very good, but my experience was disappointing. For starters my wife had potted shrimp, which was nice. I ordered the soup which had a good flavour but was too salty to eat. (I like... More

We came in for lunch yesterday as an ad hoc thing. Service was prompt, food was lovely - really good lunch menu with a good selection of sandwiches light options along with normal main courses and a few seasonal specials which looked great. I would personally recommend the beef sandwich - it came with gravy with was a really nice... More

Fish finger sandwich is apparently 'very good' (wife) with what appears to be homemade fish goujons and fresh chunky bread. I had the lamb burger with chips - wasn't bad at all - well-cooked (slightly rare but that's just right for me) juicy and well-seasoned. Chips weren't fantastic but definitely homemade - had better, but I'd definitely eat here again.... More

We were a party of six for lunch. There is an extensive menu plus daily specials and a gluten free menu which offered a wide range of options that were just as interesting as the main menu. The service was good, the portions generous, the food tasty and well cooked; prices are mid-range. We were not hurried and allowed to... More

Based on TA reviews and its location to where we were staying we decided to frequent this establishment at quite short notice! The venue was more then accommodating and made sure we were found somewhere to seat/eat! There was a lack of staff though and drinks/main meals were delivered later then expected but were to a high standard all the... More

15 of us pre-ordered at 9.45 from a varied and interesting lunch menu. There was a good range of sandwiches, starters and main courses. One popular option was the offer of a variety of salads as either starter or main portions. On our return from a long walk at 12.45 our meals were served efficiently by Luke and John and... More
