We went there as a couple and a kid. Service was great and the waitress was super nice to the kid. We had a big dish of gyoza for starter, which were nice but a bit tasteless without a dip in the soy sauce. Next we had a hot and sour soup, a noodle hot soup and a vegetarian rice... More

Very busy and basic restaurant on Mill Road - Cambridge's heart of busy and basic restaurants. As we walked in a table became available and we were directed straight to it - no frills Chinese service. Later in the evening, the restaurant was full with a queue stretching out the door at times. Food was either a conventional menu (laminated... More

I almost don't want to tell anyone about this place so it doesn't get too popular. Great food at very reasonable prices. I guarantee you won't leave here hungry and with taste buds tingling. A real Chinese culinary experience.

Updated review! Upgraded to 5 stars. Spring Restaurant recently refurbished late last year, and been going from strength to strength. Still offering a great value lunchtime menu, place sports a new open air kitchen and plenty of space. Slight change in cooking to a more mainland style, yet possibly for the better as they are generous portions for the value.... More

Myself and a friend went for a quick bite to eat, it was a mistake choosing this place. We were seated right at the back, it was so cold I had to eat with my coat on. When our starters came out, the mains followed a few mins after. Food went cold, I was recommended this place, but will never... More

Reading the bad reviews, I suspect the reviewers have never been to China. This took me right back! Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavors were authentic and delightful. Very impressed and I will definitely go back!!

This restaurant has become a regular favourite and, not having visited for a couple of months, we were surprised to see the complete refurbishment and worried that the menu and food might have changed as well. Thankfully it hadn't and it was as memorable as ever. The spicy seaweed, cucumber with garlic, string beans with chillies and the prawns with... More

I've been here recently for the hot pot, which is poor quality meat and poultry. The chicken tastes of jelly and the beef is ridden with fat. Plus all the labels are mixed up at the food counter. The normal dishes are much better quality and I would recommend that instead of the hot pot. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

I ended up here by chance with my missus and we both loved it. I don't know what it is but I'd say that: food is positively different from your normal Chinese takeaway or chain, as far as I could see there's only one chef and he stirs and cooks while wearing smart trousers and white shirt (what a class!!),... One of the best Chinese meals I've ever had: interesting, generous dishes, seemingly authentic (as the large number of Chinese customers suggests), and extremely good value. I can't begin to imagine how it manages to achieve so many bad reviews as well as the many more ecstatic ones. The ambience is not quite to my taste - too bright and... More
