We called into the Comfort Café on Good Friday, en-route to Norwich. Having stopped at The Little Chef across the road and being told it was at least 25 minutes wait for food and they have no facility to make hot drinks we went to The Comfort Café - and were glad we did. The full English breakfast was great... More

Contrary to another recent post, this place is v much alive. The breakfast was soooo good....the bacon was top quality and cooked to perfection, the bubble and squeek was possibly second best only to my mother 's and the soda bread was divine. We ate at table outside in the lovely spring sunshine. I am coming back here to get... More

Shabby parking area though lots of parking. Probably due to the fact that most people have tried this place and now avoid it. You enter near the toilets. You'll know that by the overpowering smell of urine. These toilets have no lights...which probably accounts for the overpowering smell of urine. The lady behind the counter was clearly working on her... More

My boyfriend and I stopped here instead of going to the Little Chef just next door (the burger king was shut - else I would have gone there) We were firstly amused at the 'World Famous' title because when you walk in, it's like something out of the Hills Have Eyes film. People go in but never make it out... More

Ok food but rather a sparse and uncomfortable eating area. The café is a bit off the beaten track and not all that easy to find!"

You only need to read a couple of reviews to get a feeling for this place - dated decor, aggressive and consistently unsmiling staff, high prices. The fry ups are actually fairly reasonable, Ive never ventured onto the lunch menu but cant imagine it would be very rewarding. If it wasnt the only cafe within a 15 mile radius I... More

How can it claim to be famous and how can it claim 'comfort' in its name. On both counts the place miserably failed and I wish now I had stopped at the Little Chef adjacent to the Comfort Cafe (curiosity I suppose!). The place could certainly do with an uplift with everything appearing very dated and run down. The staff,... More

Still not sure why it has survived as long as it has. We always meet our friends there on our way to Centerparcs. The food is only just passable tea lukewarm and service not brilliant. We arrived at 1.00pm. and was told they were closing at 2.00pm in the past it was open much later. We suspect it was due... More

A little underwhelmed after the hype of the signs. Whilst nice and clean the service was brusque to say the least, the scrambled egg were sloppy, beans were cold and no toast with a full English. Even the free wifi didn't work. On the plus side a good selection of newspapers and clocks!
