If there's only one pub you can visit; might as well make it The Eagle! Their recently introduced DNA homebrew went down smooth - get a pint! And of course, I ordered the fish and chips; which wasn't much to write home about; but very satisfying in the grand scheme of pub life!! Indeed Watson & Crick of the double... More

We ate there for dinner on 8/25. The system immediately threw us off; you are supposed to order your food and drinks at the bar and tell them your table number so they can deliver your food when it is ready. Seat yourself. No signs for any of this. The fish and chips was average. They do not bring any... More

Absorbed in Crick & Watson's findings - you can actually sit at the table where these scientists sat and conjured up the DNA double helix! Dinner is good but service is slow.! but if you are not in a hurry then you can just sit back & take in the ambiance of the Eagle Pub. If you are in a... More

Popped in on a nice sunny day for a bite to eat. Lovely traditional pub with lots of character and History. Service was really good with polite staff who were friendly and chatty. The food is typical pub grub with items on the menu such as fish and chips, burgers and pies. Nice place to visit for a drink and... More

Dinner was close to inedible. One gristly steak was delivered practically raw, sent back and of course it came back like shoe leather. Woman behind the bar practically snarled at customers, she was so miserably unpleasant. Rear room with its famous ceiling stank of stale beer. Wouldn't even sit in there. Do not eat here if you wish to enjoy... More

Authentic multi-room pub with an outdoor seating option. Excellent selection of typical "pub grub" foods plus steaks and ribs. Carefully cooked dishes and fresh vegetables make for an excellent meal. Nice selection of beers, cask ales, wines and full bar. Check out the RAF bar in the back including the ceiling. Highly recommend for a good meal and good time.... More

I love this pub. It is what I imagine a typical English pub should be like. I recommend visitors to 'Look up' at the ceiling, which was 'signed' by WWII pilots. This pub is always 'thronging', full of students, locals and tourists. A very nice friendly atmosphere. Good pub food. Good beer. Zero car parking. Stacks of bicycle parking. Highly... More

Came here to see the historic RAF bar & ended up staying to eat. The food on offer is typical pub grub, and tasty enough. The service is prompt and efficient.
