A quick recommendation - six of us had a very enjoyable meal, all well cooked, tasty, and clean plates at the end. Interesting wine list - good atmosphere. Very helpful staff.

I stopped in about 9pm on the Thursday to have a quick bite to eat. The staff very quickly offered me a choice of tables and it was no problem being so late. I was working on my laptop most of the evening, so wasn't...More

Just so rare that you have the choice of goat, and at St. John’s chophouse it is served as a delicious dish for two to share. Service kind, although they couldn’t find a cushion to sit on for a short person like me who really...More

This was the last stop on a weekend away in East Anglia and ended it perfectly. We were early but were seated straight away, although there is a bar if you want to have a drink before your meal. Ordered the cauliflower fritters, which were...More

I love the layout of this restaurant. It's very cosy and not cluttered with tables. The soft lighting is also nice. The food is fabulous and the portions are genererous.

Once again, I was not disappointed by this delightful restaurant. I have been to St John’s Chop House several times and each time it doesn’t fail to amaze. The food is always delicious, well presented and the staff just round off the whole evening. I...More

The Chop House was recommended by our hotel but we had not booked. Management slotted us in despite being fully booked and the service was excellent. Good food with no pressure.

Hi, I'm afraid there is no parking on site, however you can park in the pay and display opposite the restaurant. The road is called Pound Hill and is @ £1 per hour. Parking during the week is not a problem but at the weekend... More

Description
Just off the beaten track, The St. John's Chop House is a sister restaurant to The Cambridge Chop House. The restaurant is situated in a 200 year old former Almshouse. Split over 2 levels with 5 separate dining rooms it offers a wide range of dining options from an intimate meal in our Reading Room to the party sized rooms on the ground floor. Traditional British food is once again the mainstay, sourced as locally as possible, complimented by a local cask ale and an interesting wine list. Reservations are taken and recommended, especially at the weekend.
