I was taken for a business lunch today to the Oak Bistro in Cambridge. We arrived early (lunch isn't served until noon) and - not having booked - were lucky to secure one of the last available tables. Important, therefore, to book in advance - particularly, as I overheard the Manager confirming they were fully booked for the next two... More

Met a couple of colleagues here for a lunchtime business meeting. It was perfect! We were very busy talking, so we were very tardy ordering. Did they mind? Not a bit. Once we got around to the food, it was simply delicious. The wine list was good too, but not extensive. I had a great goat's cheese salad to start... More

Very boring menu, quite expensive food. Unhealthy and heavy but not filling. If you are only eating British food you may find it acceptable but if you have a more diverse palate you will be underwhelmed.

We met an old friend here for lunch and it was just prefect. Great food (we ate from the fixed price lunch menu £13.95 for two courses) - pate and goats' cheese with avocado salad for starter and we all had salmon, cod and haddock fish cakes as our main - delicious. The service was excellent and as we had... More

Fabulous food. Possibly the best goat's cheese I've ever eaten. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Loved it. A*

Nice place. Haddock fishcake with egg & spinach, chocolate fondant dessert, both nice. Friendly and attentive staff.

Both the food and atmosphere were well presented. My sea bream was cooked perfectly. The only downside was the service although the staff were friendly, they seemed too busy paying attention to our next tables who were having a Christmas do. All in all the experience was good, we'll probably go back another time.
