Lovely Sunday dinner had the beef out a choice of chicken , pork and lamb shank. Meat nice and tender and veg all very well cooked, nice big Yorkshire on top, would of preferred a couple more roast potatoes rather than mash. For pudding we...had sticky toffee sponge and a syrup sponge very basic but very tasty. Good vibe in the pub and very good on sanitizer and social distancing rules.More

We went for a pint. The welcome was very warm. The organisation of the social distancing etc was excellent. We were made to feel valued and special by the manager and all the staff. A great visit. We’ll be back soon.

We had Sunday lunch here with friends and can honestly say it’s the best Sunday roast I’ve had in ages. Staff are incredible friendly and really helpful. I also have a gluten and dairy allergy and they were easily able to accommodate.

Myself and my family attended a family meal and was so disappointed in the food! Not one person on our table enjoyed our meal and 5 of the 10 dinners had to be sent back! The only saving grace in this pub was the lady...serving us! Kind considerate and over worked! If you want your business to succeed you need to get a better chef! Or at least some help! I have been poorly for the last two days after eating here!More

Firstly I'd like to apologise for your terrible experience. We were very short staffed on the day of your visit and had a number of problems in the kitchen that day. Your unexpected large group arriving on shift changeover unfortunately led to your meals coming...More

We came here on the recommendations of my sister who had been here before. It’s no ones fault the layout of the pub being what it is but it could be improved if the locals didn’t sit at the bar watching I pads of sporting...events and were politely asked to sit somewhere else instead- with no table service you had to jostle for space for the attention of the lone bar staff. The food was awful. I ordered veggie burger and chips and I ate most of it because I starved in anticipation. But truth be told the chips were like bullets and like a previous posting the plate was cold as was the rest of my family. Three of whom sent the dinners back to be reheated. Two of them found black hairs in their dinner. We were told that the young girl serving the food has been told a number of times to tie her hair back but doesn’t. The one saving grace? The bar staff who was polite and apologetic in such difficult circumstances- I wish she was managing the pub. It can improve but that starts with the kitchen, maybe put dinners on hold and just do bar snacks instead until a better suited cook can be found.More

when will pubs learn serving hot food on cold plates is so disappointing and from the 70's. The plate just sucks the heat right out of the food and its cold before you can finish it. Why can't you use a grill or an oven...to warm the plates if you can't afford a plate warmer....... wake upMore

Stopped for a quick Sunday Roast. The pub had been open for less than half an hour. Received a warm welcome and they had a good selection of ales to choose from. Got drinks and ordered 2 Roast Beefs then sat outside. Dinners arrived within...15 mins, looked good and tasted good, veggies were “al dente” to our liking. However, the lunch was badly let down as both plates contained just 1 medium size roast potato. Should have maybe asked for another but didn’t want to feel like a pair of “Oliver’s”.More

I have eaten here before and I know that Mark takes great care with the food but today we went to lunch and I must say the salad was a very poor roast chicken salad. When it said roast chicken I think it was four...slices of a chicken breast just grilled to made it look roasted but it was so tough and dry. New potatoes I must say were lovely but it dosen't take much cooking to boil a potato and then the salad - can't really call it a salad as all it was was lettice, one piece of cucumber, no tomato and no dressing of any sort and no mayonnaise or anything on offer. It was so dry. Try a bit better next time a salad is served.More

Really enjoyed Sunday lunch here with a large group of family and friends. Service was prompt and the sunday roasts were delicious. Incredibly generous with the vegetables and the meat was good quality. Dessert was also lovely. The only thing I would change is that...I didn't really like the sauces, such as horseradish etc coming out in little plastic containers- looked a bit cheap and didn't really go along with the quality of everything else. One thing just to note is that there is no disabled toilet.More
