Would be good if they upped the portion sizes, we had the halloumi starter, another piece of halloumi would of been the correct amount, after all it only costs a couple quid.... service by the young waiter was very good though

We visited on a Saturday so naturally it was pretty full. Luckily we had booked. We had a mixture of the Saturday specials and the a la carte menu. The prawn tagliatelle was a tasteful filling starter. Both of the seafood dishes, cod and sea...More

This was our 4th visit and the best meal so far. On a busy Friday we had a able in the upper level away from the bar. The furniture is antique adding to the olde worlde atmosphere. The menu though is modern with an emphasis...More

Situated in the pretty village of Penn outside High Wycombe, this pub is near to the green in the village. It's popular but there's lots of space inside. Decent parking. It's got a modern but tastefully decorated interior, comfortable seating, really pleasant and helpful staff,...More

Dinner was pretty amazing, my friend and I had tagliatelle as starter, cod as main course, and a lovely pudding with chocolate sauce on the side. I really enjoyed it, price is mid-range, but I would say it's cheap for me as I am used...More

Description
Our Little Gem is a delightful country pub & restaurant that's full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces. All are welcome in our bar area - even the beloved pooch! (Our doggy biscuit jar may be of interest to said pooch...) We have a stylish but cosy, two level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months - and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play. Everything on our menus is freshly made in our kitchen, including our ice creams and tasty chutneys. Our dishes change in line with the seasons and are made using the best local produce that we can get our hands on. In fact - If you think your veggies are top of the crops, then bring them along...we accept them as currency! (We're totally serious - Please ask) We're what you might call a 'proper pub', serving a selection of great real ales and lagers, alongside premium spirits and a good range of soft drinks and organic juices. Our wine list is carefully sourced (that bit was fun) and features boutique wineries - producing an exciting and individual list with many wines served by the glass. Planning a party? If you need that perfect spot to get some business done away from the office, or if you have something special to celebrate, please give us a call! We'll take all the hard work off your hands. Nearby, there are great walks in the beech woodlands of Common and Penn Woods, perfect for a visit to walk off one of our indulgent puds, or that Sunday roast. Whatever the occasion, if you're looking for a lovely spot to eat great food and catch up with friends and family, we think The OQH is just the place... We look forward to welcoming you soon!
