We arrived and were delighted to be shown to a table straightaway without a booking. It's well laid out with nooks and crannies all over, lots of dogs too which is god to see. The people who work here seem to delight in service and the menu is good too. We weren't that hungry so just had starters of crab... More

Please don't waste your money on eating at The Old Queens Head. Staff polite and efficient, but oh! the food. Edible but not worthy of the prices they are charging. Such a shame because it has great potential. I have been on several occasions now, and have crossed it off my list for good.

Although I have been satisfied in the past - I was disappointed with the lunch on Thursday 13th July. My brother and I visited and ordered starters and mains and I also had a dessert. I ordered the poached egg, bacon on a rosti and the eggs were nicely cooked but the bacon was like hard plastic. My brother had... More

Searched for a dog friendly pub on the net and this one was the nearest, thank goodness! Lovely pub in a gorgeous setting that was indeed dog friendly. We had dinner - belly pork that melted in your mouth and tasted amazing. My creme brulee was a little on the runny side but did taste lovely, my daughter's cheesecake was... More

We have eaten at this gastro pub for many years and it never disappoints. The food to great and well presented. Portions are of a good size. You can book to eat in the restaurant or eat in the bar area for a more casual meal. The menu is the same either way. Staff are friendly and professional. The pub... More

Recommended by a friend, I live down by Gatwick, but wanted a place half way from my client for a business lunch. What a recommendation, would have no hesitation recommending either. Menu, well very difficult to make a choice as all looked so good. Excellent food all served by very attentive friendly staff. Can't wait for an excuse to meet... More

I love this pub, the food is amazing, the pubs lovely got a lovely open fire which is fab in the winter, lovely garden for the summer, plenty of benches. It has a lovely function room upstairs which is brilliant for a party. It does get very busy but it just shows how popular it is.

Our Little Gem is a delightful country pub & restaurant that's full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces. All are welcome in our bar area - even the beloved pooch! (Our doggy biscuit jar may be of interest to said pooch...) We have a stylish but cosy, two level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months - and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play. Everything on our menus is freshly made in our kitchen, including our ice creams and tasty chutneys. Our dishes change in line with the seasons and are made using the best local produce that we can get our hands on. In fact - If you think your veggies are top of the crops, then bring them along...we accept them as currency! (We're totally serious - Please ask) We're what you might call a 'proper pub', serving a selection of great real ales and lagers, alongside premium spirits and a good range of soft drinks and organic juices. Our wine list is carefully sourced (that bit was fun) and features boutique wineries - producing an exciting and individual list with many wines served by the glass. Planning a party? If you need that perfect spot to get some business done away from the office, or if you have something special to celebrate, please give us a call! We'll take all the hard work off your hands. Nearby, there are great walks in the beech woodlands of Common and Penn Woods, perfect for a visit to walk off one of our indulgent puds, or that Sunday roast. Whatever the occasion, if you're looking for a lovely spot to eat great food and catch up with friends and family, we think The OQH is just the place... We look forward to welcoming you soon!
