Really great food served in a beautiful old pub The quality of food, wine and beer are as good as you will get in any pub, and much better than most. Plenty of parking helps make the decision very easy

While visiting friends in the area we frequented this unique pub. It was a very delightful experience and one that will be repeated. Looking for something different we tried "Bubbles & Squeaks". The name intrigued us as our English friends would not divulge the reason for the name or ingredients. As it turned out it was two poached eggs(bubbles) on... More

We haven't eaten here before even though it's fairly local. We both had the bubble and squeak and it was really rather fantastic. The only reason I've given it a 4 is that I feel it's a little overpriced for what it was and that the service was okay but we were lazily greeted at the bar. Venue and garden... More

Nice place, partly old, and partly less so. Food was nice, service was excellent and on a warm summer day, it was not stifling (even on the upper floor).

Arrived at this pub which is in a lovely building and location. With family members (one of whom is diabetic) for a funeral. The pub was not busy on the sunday evening (24th July 2016). We ordered food and some bread to keep us going as the diabetic member of the party NEEDED to eat. We waited just over one... More

Had the Bubble and Squeak and it was fabulous great cooking and great service all round. Roaring fire on cold days makes it a great place. Have been back recently just for a coffee even that is served with maltesers

Sunday roasts are served late, had soup, beef and cheesecake. It was perfect. Large portions. Atmosphere pretty sterile, with slightly pretentious service - 'sirs' and 'madams' in a pub! Drinks range not so good.

We arrived and were delighted to be shown to a table straightaway without a booking. It's well laid out with nooks and crannies all over, lots of dogs too which is god to see. The people who work here seem to delight in service and the menu is good too. We weren't that hungry so just had starters of crab... More

Please don't waste your money on eating at The Old Queens Head. Staff polite and efficient, but oh! the food. Edible but not worthy of the prices they are charging. Such a shame because it has great potential. I have been on several occasions now, and have crossed it off my list for good.

Description
Our Little Gem is a delightful country pub & restaurant that's full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces. All are welcome in our bar area - even the beloved pooch! (Our doggy biscuit jar may be of interest to said pooch...) We have a stylish but cosy, two level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months - and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play. Everything on our menus is freshly made in our kitchen, including our ice creams and tasty chutneys. Our dishes change in line with the seasons and are made using the best local produce that we can get our hands on. In fact - If you think your veggies are top of the crops, then bring them along...we accept them as currency! (We're totally serious - Please ask) We're what you might call a 'proper pub', serving a selection of great real ales and lagers, alongside premium spirits and a good range of soft drinks and organic juices. Our wine list is carefully sourced (that bit was fun) and features boutique wineries - producing an exciting and individual list with many wines served by the glass. Planning a party? If you need that perfect spot to get some business done away from the office, or if you have something special to celebrate, please give us a call! We'll take all the hard work off your hands. Nearby, there are great walks in the beech woodlands of Common and Penn Woods, perfect for a visit to walk off one of our indulgent puds, or that Sunday roast. Whatever the occasion, if you're looking for a lovely spot to eat great food and catch up with friends and family, we think The OQH is just the place... We look forward to welcoming you soon! Tina (General Manager)
