The pub is really lovely with a nice fire, good choice of ales, games etc and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the real reason I'm writing this review is just to say how AMAZING the Sunday roast was. I'm vegetarian and it was just the best roast dinner I've ever had in my life, it was... More

We go regularly for an impromptu lunch and are always greeted with warmth and friendliness from the lovely staff. There is always good ale and food. We like the lunch menu and often take friends and relatives for Sunday lunch. We love the Rose!

Contrary to popular belief, this establishment does not offer the best Roast in Bristol. We had been persuaded to come on numerous reviews from friends and family and I don't give out 'poor' reviews easily, however, we were very disappointed with our food here. Three of us ordered a Sunday Lunch and were excited to eat (it had been a... More

7 of us ate here for a late Sunday lunch. Two of us are vegans and as well as the usual roast meat options and a fish option, plus probably the biggest ploughmans menu we've ever seen, it was great to see a pumpkin, walnut and chick pea pie on the menu as well. When we ordered the pies we... More

So hard to find a decent pub with good food. This pub is perfect, good location, great food - we had roast - and has a warm friendly atmosphere. Also dogs are welcome, wish this was my local!

We've just had a wonderful few hours enjoying excellent beer and delicious food at the Rose. I've had business lunches, breakfasts, coffee and even a work Christmas "do" there over the past couple of years: the quality of food has always been ace and portions satisfying. Today I invited 3 good friends for Sunday lunch. I can only vouch for... More

Met my father and nephew here for something to eat on a very cold Wednesday night. Immediately felt welcomed and the selection of food looked great. Once we ordered the food did take a while but it was worth the wait as it was truly home cooked and delicious. Would highly recommend.

We visit Bristol every couple of months and maybe 3 times a year visit The Rose. It must be one of the most frustrating restaurants we visit. Whenever we are disappointed we always give it another chance and it is great, unfortunately this time it was very disappointing and actually I had a dicky tummy the following day. Only one... More

We have eaten here a few times with family, last night was a exceptional meal. I had vegetarian lasagne and the burgers as always are very moreish. They are happy to let well behaved dogs in as we take our hound. Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Top notch grub.
