We've just had an excellent meal here, the decoration was a bit concerning but thankfully the food way surpassed the decor. If you can see past the basic surroundings you'll be in for a treat with the food.

Please don't judge a book by the cover. The decoration here is fairly basic, but the food is wonderful! We have been twice now and can't wait to go back again. The food is really fresh and very good quality, the lamb karahi is to die for. The lamb is plentiful and really tender. The starter were really good too.... More

This is by far the best Indian restaurant I have been to in Bristol. I have visited many times and it is always consistent. The food is really tasty, and not swimming in oil like some Indian restaurants can serve. I recommend the vegetarian thali, a selection of curries, rice and bread served in little dishes - really good value... More

The restaurant is not particularly atmospheric, especially when there's a migraine inducing flashing lightbulb that's in its way out above your table. We asked to move, however we couldn't venture very far beside it's not a big place and the only free table was right next to us. The food was okay, far from the best we've had though. Also... More

Good food served in this smallish restaurant. The starter selection was almost a meal in itself. All served in a timely manner.

There were 4 main issues that made our Bristol Raj experience the worst ever in our collective experience. That's a combined 120 years for me and 2 mates regularly visiting curry houses. Firstly, we booked for 9.45 on a Friday night. When we arrived the ground floor had no free tables, and the staff had obviously lost or conveniently forgotten... More

I hadn't been in the Bristol Raj for over a decade having lived away from Bristol but it remains a very decent curry house-no frills but good value. My Lamb Tikka Balti was great and the sides and naans were good too. A very good experience.

Just got back from visiting Bristol Raj.. The chicken garlic chaat was very tasty as a starter. The Golda Chingra Mirch Baja..main.. Absolutely fantastic.. We did use the taste card..half price. Bargain.

Really love it here. Staff are very polite and the food is fab! Great location as right in the centre of Clifton village. Extensive menu choice. Really good
