I was welcomed by the cheery lady owner who chatted informatively about the menu items. I had sardines which were the best I have ever tasted, with just the right amount of crispness and superb flavours, followed by the Lamb Tagine which was served hot and was excellent soul food. The man of the house (the resident chef) came out... More

My daughter & I chanced upon this little oasis of North Africa and were not disappointed. We were welcomed by Bridget, the owner whose husband ( I think ) is the chef. Newly refurbished after a few weeks closure, the restaurant was quiet as it's regulars hadn't realised that it is now open again. The restaurant is unlicensed but customers... More

We arrived before opening time (7.00pm), but were happily allowed in, and given drinks, despite the chef not being there the food was great, and piping hot, though it did take a while to come, but this was because it was actually freshly produced, which was clear from the taste & quality. When we were leaving the manager very kindly... More

Had my 50th party at Assilah Bistro with Belly dancing. The food was delicious, reasonable and amazing evening with relaxed manager who let us stay till early hours! It's a BYO restaurant which makes it even better for a good night out. Well done Bridget & co!

Great food from a Moroccan heritage. Relax in comfort with your own wine and enjoy an inexpensive taste of Tangiers with friendly service

Quite a small restaurant, but what it lacks in size it most certainly makes up for in decor and ambience. The owner has clearly put a lot of effort into making the restaurant the wonderfully quirky and atmospheric place that it is! FOH all run by the one lady, quite impressive but I do think she could benefit from an... More

We went on Friday evening. A very themed Moroccan vibe but all feeling and looking a little jaded. Although the staff were friendly, there was an air of unprofessionalism about and I felt strangely uncomfortable but not sure exactly why - possibly that the manager/staff were rolling cigarettes on the tiny reception desk and then sitting just outside the front... Hi there firstly I would like to thankyou for taking the time to write a review we value all feedback from customers. I do apologise that members of staff were smoking on the forecourt and yes you are correct it doesnt look professional usually they take their break to the side of the Bistro but the weather was very bad... The place looks amazing- very authentic and unique. The food was also enjoyable although the grill food came as a shock as it was quite spicy without any mention of it being so on the menu. The tagine however was amazing and I would definitely recommend this dish. The issues I found were that upon arrival we were told that... More

Description
We are a family run authentic moroccan bistro on the wells road between totter down and knowle. Established 14 years ago we operate on a B.Y.O basis allowing the customer to bring the tipple of their choice. We use traditional moroccan recipes from tagines to meshwi and relax in the moroccan bedouin seating or the more traditional bistro seating. We can cater for large groups and belly dancing can be arranged. So come and enjoy a taste of morocco in Bristol. AS WITH ALL TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN RECIPES TAGINES DO TAKE A WHILE TO COOK SO WE WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FAST FOOD
