Tried this place for the first time on Tues 3rd Nov. They food was great and the service friendly and prompt. They don't insist on using the NHS app, they're quite happy to take your details in any way that you are comfortable with, as...it should be. The seating is well spaced out, there is plenty of hand sanitizer and the staff all wear masks. Portion size is generous here, I struggled to eat all of my food, despite that it was a very enjoyable meal and I can't wait to come back, when everything reopens, and try more of the menu.More

The restaurant is in the old Stock Exchange building and has great atmosphere. The chicken Tikka Shislak was excellent as was the Chicken Madras. The food quality was second to none. The service too was excellent - nothing was too much trouble. Our waiter Syed was...polite and professional. We would recommend this restaurant. Visitors from Chester.More

Went here for a family meal as it seemed like a nice place via the reviews online. When we went in it wasn't exactly covid 19 friendly with everything seemed to be rammed into one room and all different couples, and other parties all sitting...right next to each other. At one point the tables are so close a guy walked past our table and his butt brushed the top of our table thats how close everyone was in there. The food itself was ok, I wouldnt say it was the best I've had by a long shot but of a decent quality to be fair. Another thing I was suprised by even though we had just spend nearly £90 on food they charged us a table service charge to which I was suprised by considering the current global crises with covid and its not like we can just get up and get our own food anyway so I felt that was a bit wrong to charging people that if im honest. Over all the staff were ok to be fair, no major problems with them apart from trying to give us a dirty plate at one point covered in grease underneath it. Food was standard and due to the table service charge its not some were id go again if im being honest. The charge for table service for the record was just under £6.00, which aint much but by charging every party that they mist be making a small fortune.More

We came across 'Old India' by chance and it was destiny! Great ambience, caring and attentive staff and the food was amazing. Located in a beautiful old building, it looks better on the inside, really characterful and fun, the way a curry house should be!...Much ore authentic than any other Indian restaurant I have been to. I can't rate it highly enough and will defiantly go back for more of their delicious food when we are next in Bristol.More

Genuinely one of the best indian meals I’ve enjoyed (and I’ve had a few)! A quirky setting and a little off-putting to walk into, with slightly cramped tables, however well worth the trepidation! Service is friendly and relaxed, no pomp or ceremony, but absolutely no...complaints. Food came out promptly and was first class. The portions substantial and flavoursome. The menu isn’t comprehensive, but there’s plenty to chose from. It’s how an indian restaurant used to be before they tried to be contemporary and exciting, so the name suits it! Take it from a guy who knows his indian restaurants - this is a good one!More

Met up with a friend here recently on a Wednesday night as they were participating in the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme. Really fancied having an Indian as I had really missed some nice spicy food throughout lockdown. Booked the meal for 8pm earlier...in the day. Upon arrival at the restaurant the Waitress checked our booking but had no record. She eventually managed to squeeze us in after about 10 minutes. Once seated we ordered a couple of drinks and eventually placed our food order after about 30 minutes as the place was really busy. Credit to the two waitresses though as they were running frantically trying to ensure everyone was served. The meal itself was rather average as it tasted like it was drowning in ghee! Eventually we asked for the bill which one of the waitresses brought over a couple of minutes after requesting it. When I checked the bill there was no discount applied as part of the government scheme. I queried this with the waitress who brought over I presumed was the owner. He said that as we hadn’t book (which we had) that the discount wouldn’t apply!! He seemed quite arrogant when I told him he was taking out of his backside. He then went onto say it was a minimum of £20 a head as we were paying by card to cover the visa costs. What a load of bull I said. I eventually paid but certainly won’t be revisiting. Credit to the waitresses thoughMore
