We had booked for Saturday evening, did not get off to a good start! 1. Were were 15 minutes early to for our 6 o'clock table, we were asked to wait in the bar and we would be advised when our table is ready. It got to 6:15 and they had clearly forgotten about us so had to go and... More

Stood at the bar for 20 minutes waiting to be served even though it wasn't that busy. Both bar staff ignored us and served other people who showed up after we did. When the bar man eventually served us, he didn't speak, merely nodded at us and didn't even pour a full pint for my partner. Absolutely terrible and very... More

Good location, friendly stuff and best steak sandwich in West Country! Prices are a bit high for a University city but we enjoyed every bit.

In the heart of the city with parking nearby, Brown's serves excellent food at reasonable prices. The service provided by our waitress, Anna, was excellent. The only negative was that one dish arrived lukewarm and took a long time to be reheated and returned to the table.

Had dinner last Sunday evening. Food poor and staff seemed pretty disinterested in serving us. Some choices not available "because it's Sunday". Staff needed to be called on a couple of occasions to order more drinks, rather than noticing empty glasses. And then had to be reminded a drink had been ordered. Generally slow service, even though restaurant was not... More

The staff were very polite and the service was good. I thought the prices were quite high for the food we received, even though it was served promptly and was very tasty. The restaurant lacked atmosphere and was quite noisy as it filled up because there were no soft furnishings to absorb the sound.

Decent pub in an elegant building close to Bristol's university. Dishes looked, nice atmosphere and adequate service. It appeared to be a pub for the upper class as no student was to be found in it, only people in posh clothing.

Ate lunch here last month and was unfortunately disappointed. It was a Saturday and the place was very busy but nonetheless standards should still have been high. Description
The Browns building in Bristol is modelled on the Doge's Palace in Venice and was once part of the outstanding Bristol Museum and Art Gallery.

It was restored to its former glory in 1992 and is now very much part of the landscape.

Bristol is a city of bridges, boats and beautiful churches with the stunning Georgian Queen Square at the centre and the world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge on the cliffs of the Avon Gorge.

So come and join us at Browns for a great atmosphere, delicious food, sparkling fizz and cool cocktails!
