Just returned from having an evening meal with friends. The meals were tasty and plentiful. SID the waiter was very good and very informative when asked about Sunday lunches so can't wait to return and try the Sunday lunch sounds really good.

Family group of 7 for Sunday lunch, given the alcove at far left of pub. Its really nice environment/ambience, and helpful with flexing the booking. Roasts were mixed, my pork belly was good, but chicken was tough/overcooked. Some of my veg had large/tough stems. Service generally good, but chap gave off a bit of 'can't you see I'm very busy' vibe and took two requests for the 'as much gravy as you want' to arrive. If 4 stars = Very Good, would probably give it 3.5 = Good.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch 8.5.22
The starter of mackerel pate was delicious and great portion size.
The roast beef and pork were perfect everything was well cooked and the side dish of cauliflower cheese was spot on . Hubby rated 11 out of 10. The girls behind the bar were very friendly and attentive and deserve the drinks that the landlord will buy them 😁. We will definitely be back

5 of us went for Sunday dinner at 2pm today. We were disappointed for the following reasons:
The service was very slow even though the pub wasn't busy; (50 min wait)
The food was not hot and some was sub standard- the gravy was catering style bisto, very tasteless, some of us had roast carrots at the bottom of our pile of food that were burned to charcoal.
The plates /portions served up were inconsistent, some of us had veg others didn't, one plate had left over scrapings of cauliflower cheese served on it, one plate looked dirty.
Deserts- average and variable
High prices, not good value.

The Cambridge Arms is local to us and we had a few friends staying so we went along to eat. My burger had been left under a heating light for way too long so the bun became inedible, the chips were pretty awful too. Others had the scampi which they said was good but they were also underwhelmed by the chips. The odd thing is we didn’t choose anything tricky or fussy, burger and chips and scampi and it was all rather disappointing. The service was excellent and the wine was really good. The chef is in the wrong job!

I’ve been here months ago for Sunday roasts and they have been great, but this time round was incredibly disappointing. Not only was getting our order taken a very long process, when the food finally arrived (two burgers) they had ran out of tomatoes and onions apparently, and the food was burnt. To cheer ourselves up from the poor main we ordered dessert of brownies which had also ran out and was replaced with sticky toffee pudding, which was not pleasant at all. For the price we paid it was pretty appalling. Staff were pleasant enough but wasn’t the best atmosphere. A big shame, won’t be returning.

The website and Sunday menu are very misleading. With 12 main courses advertised we were very disappointed to only have 3 choices offered. There were 7 in our party and 4 couldn't have what they'd previously chosen from the website. Roast beef, roast chicken and a veggie option were all that was available. The roast beef tasted lovely and well cooked but luke warm. All in all disappointed.

I have been here on numerous occasions and normally the service is alright. Yesterday we ordered some snacks to have alongside drinks.
The staff forgot one of our drinks on two occasions which isn’t a huge issue but that in addition to this, I don’t even know if you can call it a bowl, of cheesey chips.
£3.50!!!!!
Where is this cheese? And where are the chips??
It’s the only time in my life where the ketchup to chip ratio was the wrong way round - too many chips for the sauce!
I don’t mind paying a bit more for things if the service is alright but £6.10 for a pint of peroni (which was forgotten) and then handed this pathetic portion of chips, i was almost speechless.

Booked a table here as we wanted a quiz whilst staying in the area with friends. The staff and the food were excellent. Gammon Steaks with lovely well cooked eggs, veggie roasts were fresh and tasty. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and we had a thoroughly good time. My friend said her calamari was the best she'd ever had. Highly recommended. We will be back.

The manager and the staff at the cambridge arms were amazing. Couldn't have asked for better service. From the minute they answered my emails and calls they couldn't have been more helpful. They agreed to host my son's 5th birthday party and let us have the place for free if we ordered food for all the parents. it was a dream. I would recommend it to anyone thinking of holding it somewhere suitable for both children and adults. We had an entertainer and a mini breakfast buffet for the kids which they were happy for us to bring in. And let us decorate. All in all amazing. thanks for making his day and my day easy. Plus the parents were all over the moon to be getting a free fry up - still talking about it now.

I have visited the Cambridge Arms on several occasions, and have organised family gatherings there. And I have always received really great service and attention from the team there. Most recently I visited this week with family. The staff were so helpful and accommodating and we had a wonderful time. The food we had for lunch was good and the service was great too - we ate inside the pub but then moved outside to the huge garden to enjoy the sunshine. It is a lovely outdoor space which if you have children is great as it is enclosed. There is plenty of seating outside. All socially distanced.
And they have very clear instructions on the Covid-19 Protocols. And a one way system in place.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending a visit if you are in the area. Also if you are looking for somewhere to hold a family event or a gathering - do give them a call.

The food was delicious but the portions were tiny. I had lentil and mushroom pasta for £12 and I got what looked like a starter size. I was hungry again two hours later. I know there’s a cost of living crisis and restaurants have to cope with the rising cost of ingredients but I thought this was ridiculously small. Pasts and lentils are so cheap and I was v disappointed. The food itself was delicious, and the staff are v nice. One of the toilets had no paper (I told them about it) which seems a bit lazy on a busy Saturday evening but overall delicious food and friendly staff - just not enough of it!

Three of us ate here last week - we had fish and chips, cheese sandwich and pasta. None of these delivered what they promised. My cheese sandwich was advertised as cheese and pickle with lettuce and tomato - the latter two were absent - but heavy on the pickle. the fish and chips were over battered and not to the taste of my companion, the pasta was unimaginative with no flavour discernible apart from olive oil. Will not be returning for a while and a bit drop in standards since my last visit.

Another lovely meal at the Cambridge Arms - an authentic English pub with bags of atmosphere and delightful hosts. Matt and Kelly really make you feel like you are guests at a dinner party. It’s not a huge menu but the food, cooked by Italian chef Dom, is uniformly excellent. My fish and chips was delicious.
