Very friendly bunch. I came in for a beer and to relax after a game of squash. Made to feel very welcome even though I wasn't eating and was impressed with the high quality crinkle cut crisps offered gratis with my drink. Will certainly come back

I've visited on several occasions and continue to be thoroughly impressed every single time. Possibly the best restaurant I've come across for coeliacs as most of the menu is or can be done gluten free. As well as great tasting and decent portion sizes, it doesn't break the bank - great value for money.

Booked townhouse for a 20 person table for a family get together. Pre-booking menu had lots of options. Due to various arrival times the staff were excellent and flexible. Food was fresh, tasty and cooked perfectly. Will certainly return.

This Saturday me and my family went to eat at The Townhouse in Bristol. Service was good but the food was not so good. The Yorkshire puddings were heavy and uncooked, 4 Pieces of bread and butter £4 wow that was something else. The Roast potatoes were really firm. The gravy was thin and weak like water and flavour less.... More

Pre Christmas Gentlemen's Club Lunch 16 guests very warmly welcomed and most efficiently served in the Ground Floor area. Moved to a Private Dining Area where the room was most carefully dressed so that all members could see and hear each other. Food served well and quickly despite the journey from the Kitchen. Wines List well balanced both in range... More

I had a lovely evening at The Townhouse on Whiteladies Road in Bristol. I went with my boyfriend for a date night and the atmosphere was perfect, it was a great balance between being bubbly and romantic at the same time. We sat at the bar at first and had a cocktail each (the espresso martini was amazing!) and then... More

A big group of us booked the private dining room for our annual Christmas gathering and had a fantastic time! Great space for 14 of us, and would have happily accommodated a few more; good facilities (able to play our own music), and never felt pushed for time. The service was excellent, attentive and timely. Food was lovely, some of... More

Food: average to reasonable (an overcooked steak: fish and chips ok) -- cost: overpriced for what you get. Overall impression: disappointing -- and serving staff really should not - when service charge is "discretionary" - write on the bill what 10% amounts to and what their suggested total is. Customers can work that out themselves. It added to the impression... More

I ordered smoked salmon, crab and prawn cocktail for starter - what does this conjure up in your mind? What actually arrived was a bland puréed/mush of very little of the three stuffed into a rather hard tomato! What if you do not like tomatos? I do but I still couldn't eat it. The turkey dinner was Luke warm and... More
