I arrived with three friends at around 7.30 on a Wednesday night. We managed to get the only table left that was free (this was just before the extension was open). Drinks are cheaper than most other places on North Street, and the food is...More

Had an absolutely brilliant time at the opening night.. Fantastic bands, great atmosphere but as the last band were playing, they locked the side door.. The place was rammed with people having a real good time.. But had there have been a reason to leave...More

I am confused about your comments regarding our launch night on Saturday. I’m not sure why you were so concerned. Since extending into the premises next door, we no longer use our original door. I presume that this was the door that was locked. We...More

I had heard this place had a good reputation for food, and by chance we stumbled across it one day so popped in for dinner. It is quirky, unique and seriously small (although looks like they are expanding?) and it is basically a very small...More

Been going here regularly for about 6 months. Love it, love it. Good food and a great place. Not full of buggies like the rest of north street. Good luck with the expansion xx

This place has become mine and my boyfriend's favourite haunt in Bristol, when we want a cheap meal out that we know will be worth the money. The best bit about this place is they change their menu nearly every week - so we know...More

Came last week for tapas which we have had here before. Great again!! Shame couple of the website options were not available despite being the first serving of night (owners: jerk chicken...mmm...next time please :) ) but as usual delicious and excellent value. For anyone...More

A great little place, now thankfully expanding to next door as its often packed. Superb tapas, larger than normal in portion size and pretty good value for money; however noticed that prices are slowly rising.

This place is great. It has a fantastic atmosphere, is really quirky and I'm so glad to see them expanding. It gets absolutely rammed here on a weekend, especially if there is a band on. I visit regularly and will continue to do so. Keep...More

The Old Bookshop is a small, eclectic cafe/bar that serves good food at a fair price. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The walls are covered in old photographs, typewriters and curiosities. We have guest chefs and pop-up kitchens each month, so menu changes regularly. Don't expect a stuffy restaurant, we are just a quirky little bar that does great food! We also serve delicious cocktails. Our smoking garden has a wood burner to keep you warm on chilly evenings.
