I went early on a Monday evening. Think I was the first customer. Was greeted with a smile. Ordered pasta and sauce. It came piping hot and the bowl it was served in kept it hot till I finished. Followed by ice cream and all for under a tenner. I'll be back. Best meal of this holiday so far.

Like me, you could have spent the last 30 years driving past this restaurant into the centre of Bristol giving it only a glancing look from the car. A visit to the Affordable Art Fair and a friend saying "why don't we find a restaurant close to Temple Meads " (convenient for their return rail journey home) led to me... More

I visited Don giovanis for the second time but this time I asked for the head chefs recommendations not looking at the menu! I had the home made French onion soup with a cheese crostini on and honestly it was the best I've had! For my main the Dover sole with capers and prawns, they only get 10 fresh sole... More

If you like your food cooked to perfection by a classically trained chef, with far too many years of experience than he'd like to admit. Then please don't look any further than Don G's. I've been dining here for years and every visit I am made to feel like family. The food really is as good as it gets, I... More

We went there because of the good reviews and closeness to the train station. Having just come back from 2 week's in Italy this place had a lot to live up to. We shared a bruschetta, which was very good and would have done as a starter. To follow I had French onion soup which was meant to be a... More

Visited for a family birthday. Good was excellent! There was ten of us and no complaints from anyone. I'm gluten free and they had a good menu although unfortunately not pizza which is a shame. Staff were more then happy to assist with my dietary requirements. Definitely recommend the gluten free calamari! Staff were friendly.

In Bristol for a city break and needed a nice meal in the evening. Having checked restaurants out on Trip Advisor we chose this place and glad we did. The food was very good, well presented and the Shiraz wine highly recommended. The staff were friendly and were able to advise on foods that complied to a dairy free diet... More

Birthday celebration, table for four reserved at 7pm. First visit. Attentive service, excellent meal, nice Fizz, great atmosphere, full venue, fair price. Our misreading of "Al Forno" transformed a really good evening into a thoroughly memorable one. We will return.
