The 'Moon' is set on the village green. Garway is a village set in the Borderlands in a largely unknown area between Abergavenny,Hereford, and Ross. The pub has 3 letting rooms, and is obviously the centre for the surrounding area. It is not a 'gin palace' or chain pub. It is a proper pub serving an agricultural area, and visitors... More

A friendly welcoming place with no stuffiness of airs and graces. We went for a walk leaving the car at the pub and got back for pre-booked lunch on a Sunday in July. Everything was just right and the food and beer spot on. Congratulations Garway Moon. We'll be back soon.

We all really enjoyed a family meal out here while on holiday staying nearby. A warm welcome as soon as arriving after booking a last minute table just an hour before. Between us we had five different starters, main courses and different desserts. Each and every one was fresh, tasty and well presented. The belly pork was my favorite and... More

A rare treat this, a pub in the "middle of nowhere" that neither feels like it's stuck in a time warp nor is it for locals only. Lovely friendly greeting from staff and other customers along with a good range of beers and some great value food offerings. The owners keep a lovely house and have recently revamped the outside... A warm welcoming pub, perfect for Sunday evening meal after a long walk. I can recommend the Classic Moon Burger, and the chips were REAL chips! Well kept ales, attentive but not over-bearing staff. Our return visit is already planned next time we are in Herefordshire

A warm friendly welcome, we were shown to our seats quickly. There was plenty of choice available, I went with the steak, which was cooked to perfection.

Visited for dinner with friends and were really impressed. Nice little restaurant / pub with a diverse menu. All the food was great I had the braised shin of beef on mustard mash and it was absolutely wonderful, so tender. No room for pudding. The sea bass was beautifully balanced with a prawn risotto. The service was impeccable and very friendly.... More

I visited the Moon for an evening meal with partner. The atmosphere was very nice, and we were quickly show to our seat. However we had to wait 45 mins for our food, and watch others arrive after us, and get served their food before us (starters & mains). To make things worth, I chose the special 'Espetada' and got... I took my mum to this pub hoping for Sunday lunch. Mum, who is in her mid-eighties, suffers with Parkinson’s disease and she stood waiting for a drink. I waited patiently at the bar while the barman sorted some paperwork out and we were joined by a local chap and his daughter. To my amazement, the barman ignored me and... More
