We really enjoyed our meal here - seafood chowder, mussels, and fish n' chips. The staff are all incredibly friendly and the seafood couldn't be any fresher. It's right up the main road from the castle. If we're ever back in Ireland, we'll be visiting here again!

Stopped for lunch , I had open crab sandwich and my husband had seafood chowder- both were outstanding. One of best meals we had in Ireland. Fergus was a great host , very friendly and helpful. Immediately booked for evening meal, we were again presented with great food. Brown soda bread made by Fergus's wife was brilliant. Recommend this place... More

While the most famous writers of Ireland are men, Edna O"Brien deserves to be added into the pantheon. This bar and restaurant are reputed to be her favorite, which is what brought us here. Little did we know what surprise we were in for! The food is gourmet, the views fantastic, the village a hidden gem. Seafood is locally caught,of... More

Had the lamb curry. Out of this world. Fab service from the waiting staff. Love this place. Wish I could bring the chef home. Castletownsend hard to beat for an evening of dining.

I wasn't keen on this restaurant. It was the only restaurant close to where we stayed so of course we had to check it out. It got very busy after 3pm and if you were just having a drink you were kicked out of your seat to allow for the swarms of tourists coming in for food. The food was... More

The review you wrote was dissapointing. For your information we do not kick clients off seats, we tell people tables are reserved for Diners which is natural for a Bar and Restaurant. Swarms of tourists is an insult, our clients are both foreign and local and like all our customers are very welcome, you only get swatms of bees and... More

When you realize that Mary Ann's is the only pub/restaurant in Castletownshend, you're not really sure what to expect. What I experienced blew me away. For a very tiny town, you wouldn't expect to get food that tasted very good. The prices may be on the high end but it was worth it. Food - any fish or seafood entree... More
