Good food, good service, great value. We were seated immediately (Sunday, end of August at about 12:30) and a server appeared as soon as we were seated. The menu seems to have something for just about everybody (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free). We both had an omelette - it was served well cooked right through (nothing worse than an undercooked, runny... More

Last night we had a fabulous, well presented meal at Zanzibar. The Caesar salad features turkey bacon, a wonderful idea and so tasty. The seafood chowder was hot and a perfect variety of seafood. We both had the bison short ribs and were pleased with our choice. Even my vodka Caesar was well made with the right amount of spice,... More

Wow! The salmon chowder I ordered was over the top good. There is a complex taste experience in the soup, with saffron and garlic in a fish stock base. The fish included in the soup is salmon, shrimp and scallions with all the ingredients fresh. There is also carrots, spinach and potato in the soup. So good!

Breakfast and lunch menu both looked tasty. I opted for poached eggs overtop of grilled vegetables with toast. I was pleasantly surprised with some of the nutritious options. And my eggs were cooked perfectly. Although I am not a vegetarian, there was a lot of vegetarian options. The only negative was that the service was lacking. It was hard to... More

Second time here...first was aprivate function with food not from their menu. This time our family enjoyed the friendly.knowledgible staff and fantastic food. Great to see many local wines offered. About the onlynegative was the wait for the mains BUT the menu did state that some dishes take time to prepare fresh - so not a problem - and once theplates... More

My 3 D's are decent food, decent service and decent price :) This little spot is truly a local gem. The menu offers a very good selection with options for those who are vegan/vegetarian & gluten free. Breakfast is served late which is also nice. We sat outside in the arbor area. It was a lovely atmosphere for chatting and... More

We have eaten here quite a few times and have yet to find one thing wrong. The service is quick, friendly and efficient. The daily specials are always changing. The food is fresh, local and very beautifully presented. The mulligatawny soup is the best I've ever had. Great use of spices and a nice atmosphere for a meal anytime.

Everything is made 100% from scratch, and brunch was a great family occasion. I have family that lives in Brentwood Bay (the town that's home to Zanzibar) and they're there once a week, and for good reason. I've now visited several times, and never even come close to being disappointed. YAY Zanzibar!

It's like being in the forest while savoring the peace of a superb dining atmosphere. No picnic basket needed. The food is brought to you by very pleasant servers.Zanzibar is unique. It is in Victoria yet while you're in Zanzibar you are somewhere else, miles away.
