Our friends live locally and always treat us to a beer here. I'm not a local but feel at home as soon as I walk in. It reminds me of how pubs used to be. Enthusiastic owners, excellently kept beer and good food.

The Black Horse is a gem of a pub. We are not local, but are more than prepared to make the 45 minute journey for a proper British pub like this. Both the owners and their staff are extremely welcoming, the food is good quality...More

We moved to West Tytherley 18 months ago and have found the Black Horse to be the hub of the community. Lovely unspoiled country pub with an open fire. Nick and Elaine and the staff make a point of welcoming everyone by name which makes...More

If you are expecting to walk into a pub in a quiet village and be greeted by sycophantic staff, who are prepared to put up with all manner of rudeness and wholly unacceptable behaviour, because you think that for some reason you are special, then...More

We are lucky enough that our parents live near to this great pub and we try to pop in there whenever we are visiting so we aren't locals but have never been made to feel anything other than very welcome. The owners are lovely and...More

The genuine hospitality and warm welcome that Nick & Elaine and their staff at the Black Horse provide to locals and visitors alike is beyond anything we have experienced elsewhere. We regularly use the pub ourselves and with friends. The choice of real ales is excellent...More

I felt the service was poor and I felt very un welcome as I was not a local. The food I would say was some of the worst food I have ever tasted. Would NOT recomend!!!More

This type of unfounded rather vicious review is exactly why we have avoided TripAdvisor for so long. This person is a one time reviewer, and has provided no evidence of any visit. The review seems to be entirely malicious. I find it hard to believe that...More

My husband and I moved to this area about 1 year ago and have visited this pub many times, both to eat and to have a drink and socialise. It is a lovely welcoming pub with a great buzzy atmosphere. In fact, I would say...More

When Nick and Elaine took over this pub they created a haven of friendliness with great atmosphere, beer and food which changed a lot of local peoples' lives for the better. One of the best things is that there is plenty of choice of lower...More

In a world where country pubs are closing down daily this is a shining example of a thriving village pub popular for miles around. The beer is superb and we have never had a substandard meal there. The menu is well thought out and it...More

The Black Horse is a classic country pub extending a warm welcome to all its visitors. We sell good beer and good home cooked food at reasonable prices. The menu comprises local produce as well as offering fresh fish and seasonal specialities. Open fires, exposed beams and bags of character, The Black Horse ticks all the boxes for most people's idea of an English Inn. The pub has a skittle alley available for hire all the year round with a variety of hot and cold menus. We are proud recipients of 2013 SHants CAMRA Pub Of The Year. We are also a community pub, being at the centre of the village in more ways than just geographically. Open for Lunch :- Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun. Evening meals:- Thurs, Fri and Sat.
