We went to trolls waiting for a ferry. Had halibut. Very small portion an extremely dredged in oil. Also my friend had the oyster burger. Be sure to ask for oyster in the mounds of greasy batter. Our server did the bare minimum in serving us an the place was not even busy. Very let down an would not go... More

Went for breakfast while we were waiting for the ferry the food is what you would expect frozen deep fried hashbrowns, packaged hollandaise but it tasted ok. The service was slow she didn't seem too interested in anything and it was like it was her first day on the job but pretty sure it wasn't. Good for a laugh though

They front load their sandwiches. My son and husband had the clubhouse, which had one small piece of turkey cut on two placed in the center of the bread. I had the Ocean club which had a small mixture of seafood again placed in the center. This leaves all the edges of the sandwich empty, so basically you are only... More

First of all, we got into the restaurant and the hostess let us know that food orders would take 25 minutes at the least to prepare, that was OK with us and we liked the honesty. The place was not even 1/4 full and it was around 4pm at that time. We ordered the Haddoc and chips which did take... More

I had cod with half chips, half Caesar salad. It was dreadful. The salad had so much dressing it was inedible, and topped with hard little "croutons". The fish was heavily breaded, greasy and turned soggy before I could eat it. Chips were ok. The little dish of cole slaw was far from fresh. Not many other patrons, no wonder.... More

What a treat! Having fish and chips by the bay, watching the BC ferry carrying cars and passengers to and fro Nanaimo. Watching the snow capped mountain in the far end filling up more and more as winter sets in. What a privilege! The cod was yum!

One of the fastest serves breakfast I have ever known. Friendly service and a testament to a well run family run business.

We enjoyed breakfast there before an appointment nearby. Eggs Benedict and omelette were prepared quickly when we mentioned our time limitations. Restaurant overlooks the bay where the ferry docks. Cost for two people was $30 (with coffee)

We had a dinner on a Sunday evening when the restaurant was not too busy. We managed to get a table in the patio which was great as we could watch the bay. The menu was reasonable and the prices were reasonable. Service was good and the fish tasted good - batter was not too crispy or soft - just... More
