Our vegetarian son in law suggested we visit La Charcuterie. He had heard the sandwiches were great and the owners chatter was worth the visit. He said he was going to go by one day and try a sandwich himself. He was right in that the sandwiches were fabulous, He was right that chatting with the man known as the... More

These sandwiches are massive. We weighed ours and it was 2 lbs. it would cost more to buy the ingredients to make these. He loads it full of meat and cheese. Fresh quality ingredients. Not to mention the owner is hilarious and a great person. He donates hundreds of sandwiches a week and delivers them with volunteers to homeless in... More

I have been going here for years! You can not go wrong what so ever with a sandwhich for $8 from here. The amount of meat and cheese you get on it is amazing. It takes me about 2-3 meals to eat a whole sandwhich. Do not go here if you are sensitive. Salam makes a ton of crude jokes... More

Well, this is the place a lot of people are talking about in the media. There is a movie (documentary) showing about this guy who models himself after the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld fame. Salam Kahil is a Lebanese-Canadian who runs the store himself but you would be wise not bringing up the movie, it is a sore point for... More

I was told about this place by a friend and forewarned on how to act once inside - i.e. say Hello, no cell phones etc. The owner is an eccentric but afiable individual who likes to make crude jokes and get the customer laughing. There's a menu on the wall but he ignores it - you get whatever he feels... More

Huge. Best and biggest sandwich ever! Salam is the crazy but sweet and sick sense of humor. If you do not eat any meat, run... Really run! 4.5+ lb sandwiches for $8!!! Last you for days! Located in Industrial area. Another hidden gem. Bring cash and don't piss him off!

We got 2 sandwiches, 5.6 lbs each, and 2 cans of pop for $16. And it was so much better than the biggest sandwich I could imagine. And the 'entertainment' was just as good. Just don't take your grandma with you.

Bring your manners and a big appetite. Salam can be a bit riske with his humour but my family thinks he is hilarious. He even tones it down when our son is with us. Where can you get a meat filled 2 lb fresh sandwich for $7.50?? Give him a try.....just be open minded when you go and he will... More

Put this place on your bucket list right now! Salam (the owner) is a truly remarkable guy and will put a smile on your face every time. It should be noted that his brand of humour is off-colour, and will offend delicate viewers - and is definitely not suitable for children. Add in a ridiculously large sub sandwich for a... More
