This bistro has been here for 3 years, so as one of our group of 6 ladies said, "It must have something going for it". It's trendy and expensive for what you get so there's probably a younger clientele happy with it. The surroundings are nice. It was a midweek lunch at noon and only a couple of other tables... More

Inspired and local. Love this place and the people who own it. Support this family run business. Their steak sandwich is amazing.

This restaurant was just finishing renovations the last time I was in town so I was anxious to give it a try on this visit. From start to finish Sheila's did not disappoint. The decor, staff and food were all top notch and I will be returning the next time I am in Vancouver.

Soul food. Trendy food. Just down right awesome food. Sheilas is the best White Rock has to offer. Service is great too. Knowledgeable. Friendly. And this guy they call "Batty" is hilarious. Just don't diss his Canucks! If you are in the area, stop by. You won't be disappointed

Fresh ingredients and cuisine that clearly says "I was made with love, care, and attention" Big box corporate restaurants do not need your money get out there and support independents and support Sheila + Batty as they are amazing hosts and it shows at the table and on the plate. The carpaccio is a must!

Vancouver, Canada

My question is for rh6263 the reviewer, as I am the musician who was playing on the night in question. The fact is that in the two or more years I’ve played at Sheila’s, the large majority of wonderful guests actually go out of their way to thank me for the peaceful musical ambiance.

As did you….. Rebecca, when I sat down, face to face with you and our family, at your table.

And I recall that you weren’t even finished your appetizers by the time I’d finished playing music for the night (and joined you), so it’s fair for me to question how much the “loud music” actually affected your dinner conversation, considering that the live music wasn’t even being played for the entirety of your meal nor for most of your visit.

And I ask you to also consider that moment when I was sitting at the table with you and our family, face to face, human to human, that it would have been an incredibly courteous and effective opportunity for you to share any concerns or problems you'd had with the music, directly to me, instead of complimenting me to my face and then turning around and coming here to complain ‘anonymously’, online.

If I could at least draw logic into your assessment I need to make one obvious point …..regarding the "long dark hairs" that were found on a plate…... I ask you to consider a simple fact, that it was shortly after you and your table-mates were served your dinner, that I excused myself by hugging your companions and reaching over the table (and their food) to say goodbye………. so it was most likely and logically…… MY dark, long hair (Im very sorry) which dropped onto someone’s plate, and clearly it happened AFTER it was served to your table.

Why is it 100% common sense to assume this? Because "long dark hairs" (like mine, which you described as found) couldn’t POSSIBLY have come from any one of the short haired, blond or bald, male waiters or chefs who were the only staff who were working at that time on that night at Sheila’s.

with regards, Rachael Chatoor
