Having read reports about this pub we decided to pay it a visit for lunch on a Thursday. The pub was reasonably busy but not too busy for us to have to wait to be served. The food we had, which was only sandwiches, was well presented and with ciabatta bread and a few homemade chips. All had been freshly... More

Myself and my husband took my mum and dad who are in their eighties to the Ship Inn on Sunday 14 August. This was our first visit and definitely will not be our last. The food was excellent. We all had different dishes and not one complaint. The food is all home-cooked from fresh so do be prepared to wait... More

Our visit here was determined by the walking route we were on over two days. Having had a great meal served by exceptionally friendly staff (who allow dogs inside BTW), we booked a table for the second night too. The beer is excellent and the barman was very happy to remove the sparkler for us soppy southerners, nor was he... More

Had an excellent meal here recently. Just on the way through and tempted by the chance of a midday pint, and so glad I was. Amazing pork belly for those who don't mind a calorie or two. The sticky toffee pudding was brilliant too! Great food and great atmosphere.

Service and welcome very good, and friendly... Food was more than acceptable for a light lunch. Interesting and comfortable pub/restaurant. Super area of Staffs/Cheshire border country.

Beef bourguignon on a wet and windy August evening was just just perfect. The menu states that the beef is sourced from one of the best local butchers in Macclesfield and I can quite believe it. Full of flavour and quite delicious.

Staying locally we set off to find a good place to eat. We stumbled across the Ship and instantly knew we would not be disappointed. There is good selection of food and some specials. I had a blackpudding scotch egg which was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The ham hock with asparagus was "to die for" and my pork... More
