The restaurant is inside the hotel, so it's very convenient. The menu is big enough to cater for a lot of different tastes. They were also willing that we could share dishes. The pasta truffle was excellent. Service was friendly and fast. There hamburgers are...great. Good selection of wine.More

My husband and I had our pre wedding dinner at Locanda dei Baroni with 60 guests. The owner Andrea was very helpful and took good care of our large group. It's not easy to cook for a large group but Andrea and his team delivered...fantastic food. They have a large selection of homemade gnocchi, truffle sauce, homemade pizza, cakes and their own wine. My favorite was their Torta della Nona (grandmother cake which is a type of vanilla custard) The locanda also has rooms for rent upstairs and can provide lunch packs for hikers during the day. We will be sure to visit Andrea and his restaurant next year and highly recommend the restaurant. P.S. The Easter menu is just amazing but be sure to have a large appetite :)More

Maybe a bit touristy, and average food, but good house wine. However the wine came after the food and as they were not busy at all this is a no no. On a hot day, this nice calm open area in the woods is a...real nice venue. Open every day- all day.More

We did a long walk from Camaldoli to Eremo. And then we ended up here for dinner. Wonderful people, great food! I would recommend this to anyone.

Eating at the retaurant at the Locanda dei Baroni was the highlight of our stay at the hotel and we ate there on both nights. The restaurant is set in a nice room with well spaced tables. A menu in English is available, if desired....There are a number of 3-course set menus which represent really good value. On this occasion the theme was autumn produce. On the first night I had a starter of pork cheek, thinly sliced and delicious and my wife a chestnut ravioli in an orange sauce, which was unusual and stunning. For main course I had perfectly cooked (rare) taglia di chianina beef and my wife a shin of pork, tender and tasty. On the second night I just had to go for that chestnut ravioli and a repeat of the talgia di manzo. My wife had a starter of polenta with cinghiale ragu and main of guinea fowl in a chestnut sauce, both proclaimed as excellent. There is a good selection of local and regional wines including some wines from property of the owners of the Locanda dei Baroni all at reasonable restaurant prices. The restaurant is also a popular lunch venue for day trippers to the Casentino National Park. The excellent quality and good value make this well worth seeking out.More

My wife and I stumbled upon Camaldoli while staying in the Poppi area and decided to stop for lunch. We selected Restorante Locanda del Baroni and had a delightful time. We wanted a light lunch and in spite of our very poor Italian, our waitress...was able to help us pick perfect selections. In addition, we were able to purchase some cheeses and meats for later snacks in the adjacent store. The weather was threatening rain, so we ate inside, and the decor was very warm and friendly. Definitely worth a stop.More
