We went as a family of 6 with a small puppy we could not leave alone and requested to sit outside. We were told in no uncertain terms that they do not allow dogs. We were disappointed as many other restaurants had accommodated us outside,...but understood. We went back to our car after grabbing fast food in Field and witnessed two separate tables seated outside accompanied by large breed dogs. Before we go down the “maybe they were a therapy animal” route, maybe ours was too. No one asked. I absolutely hate double standards of any kind. If you are going to enforce your rules, then the rules must apply to all patrons. Maybe those guests knew people at the restaurant or were regulars but that doesn’t make this situation better. To top it off, the woman at the front was blatantly rude to us. Like really rude. For no reason. We made our request, we told an emphatic NO and then she stared at us. No suggestions on where else to go or even a smile. So to see other patrons seated with animals later is what sparked me to write a negative review. Something I have never done before.More
My wife and I had lunch at the Truffle Pigs Bistro at the end of our stay at Emerald Lake Lodge before heading back to Calgary, at the recommendation of friends who had been at the Bistro during the summer.
We were the only customers...in the Bistro for most of our meal. The waitress was friendly and helpful, and took care of us well. The potato soup was amazing, the Stoner chicken sandwich was incredibly tasty, and my wife's sweet potato cannelloni were fantastic.
The prices were on the high side for a lunch, but worth the visit. Will definitely stop back in when in the area.More
Little bistro in a little town in Yoho Park.
The atmosphere was perfect, not too many people, interesting music, local beers.
We stop by for a quick dinner with our little one after a long day of driving. We stayed longer that we...though because we where so good in there.
I took the lamb (recommended by the server) and it was SOOO good.
There's also a lot of product to sell, a bizarre diversity of choice which makes that place a lot more fun (coffee, sock, souvenir, art....)More
This place is actually quite quaint in the little town of Field, BC. There is not much else in town so this place stands out, the food is very good though things are a bit laid back, so bring along a little extra time. But...the wait is worth it, the food is well prepared and tasty.
We had a Superburger which hit the spot !More
There are always dilemas when reviewing a restaurant. If it takes a while for the food to arrive perhaps one might get antsy. On the other hand if the food is very well prepared and presented maybe waiting a little is worth it. My advice...would be that if you want a quick meal on the road give this one a miss, If you have the time and want interesting meal choices it may well fill the bill. The staff were freiendly and helpfull while we made choices. The food was good, well prepared and the portions decent too. The funky decor and a variety of cute - crazy souvenirs is a bonus ...More
We decided to take a peak around town to see if we might find a spot for Breakfast. We found a great Breakfast! Excellent friendly staff and great meals. I would not hesitate to stop here for lunch or dinner as well.
My husband ordered the beet burger which was actually super good, and I ordered the appetizer steak which is a perfect serving for lunch if you are not a big eater. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. We also ordered a lemon...tart for dessert which to me was a pleasant surprise. I generally find them too tart, but this was really good. The service was fast and friendly. I wish I could try their beers on draft but we still had a fair bit of driving to do that day. Maybe next time I am in the area!More
