Food was very good but seating a little difficult to get into. Curry roll and prawn tempura excellent. Wait wasn't too bad.

We asked many locals where to go for dinner, and Yamagoya's was the number one choice from everyone - we had to try it after that! Great food, fun quirky server, and sitting outside for our meal was wonderful. We tried some new things and enjoyed it all :). We went later in the evening, so there wasn't any lineup,... More

We have eaten here many times and it is always delicious. I especially recommend the house salad, it is so yummy - I wish I could make that dressing at home! We always get the Gyoza and the sushi is some of the best! If you leave room for dessert, the mousse and the sticky date are to die for!... More

Went here on an overnight stay in Fernie. Was about a half hour wait for a couple, but there were tables where we could have a drink while we waited. Got the kimchi, which was nice and quite spicy, and the Yamagoya Black, which included better than most miso, a number of specialties and some nigiri and sashimi. Also included... More

Really good sushi! The service was great. It was very busy, so expect a wait. I would recommend the curry roll and the tempura tuna roll!

This place is packed out most nights. While you can't book, I'd definitely advise turning up early else you'll be waiting a while to get seated. The queue is well justified. The food is fantastic with a great selection. I normally go for the Yamagoya Black for its value. It has a great cross-section of everything on the menu.

Got there before 5 on a Friday and we were 3rd group in line. Service was fabulous and food was fantastic! In Fernie for a week and ate here twice.

We love our sushi! It is a weekly staple in our lives. Thus, we have eaten it around the world including multiple times in Japan. Overall, this place pretty good, especially for a small town like Fernie. Fish was pretty fresh, no complaints on the six different dishes. Sushi and rolls were overloaded with rice. Good to fill you up.... More

Good and quality food -just don't be in a hurry. Small quarters and made to order food means the time from order to table may be longer than average. Friendly staff and fresh and flavorful food.
