This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was beautiful with amazing views as well as a soaker hot tub and a great fire place. They go out of their way to make guests feeling at home including the provision of books, games, complimentary cookies and sherry for the guests. It makes for a... More

Retuned to SHH about 25 years after our first visit and were totally underwhelmed given the price you pay to eat here. We had the four course dinner and between the four of us covered all twelve of the choices available. Other reviews adequately describe the feeling of dining at an old age home created by the clientele, decor and... More

We popped in after walking along the nearby spit. We decided to call back later in the evening for dinner. We ate in the bar which felt cozy and welcoming. The good was great, staff were friendly and attentive. We had s very pleasant evening and we have no hesitation in recommending this place

The dining room is lovely and the meals are one of a kind. Totally locally sourced and organic. Creatively imagined and gorgeously served. Waitstaff was highly knowledgeable and professional and dinner was a complete treat. We had the four course set dinner menu with wine pairings for a memorable experience. Treat yourself you won't be sorry.

We had high expectations and were not disappointed. We both selected the 4 course meal with wine pairings. Each course was excellent and beautifully presented. We particularly enjoyed the potato and leek soup, lamb chops, and duck confit. Many of the ingredients are fresh from the restaurant's own garden or locally sourced. The dining room is elegantly West Coast, comfortable... More

We keep coming back after 30 years, hoping to recapture some of the former greatness. Alas it has not recovered. What was once one of the best in North America has declined due to lack of attention by the owners. Menus are pretentious and expensive. Worse, the chefs don't execute the menus well. We were actually told one night when... More

Walking into the dining room of a quaint but aging inn, it's hard to not be taken aback from the stunning views of the harbour from the dining room and the smell of a wood burning fire (which somehow still works in the summer). Past that you get that really clinical stodgy feeling...with a mood somewhere between a church and... More

How can anyone not love this place? The food is fresh and innovative. The service attentive but not obtrusive. The owners really have created an original experience that has been followed by others and enjoyed by all. We enjoyed our dinner...a long (and, yes, as one reviewer pointed out, unremarkable and unattractive ) drive. But the result is worth it.... More

This restaurant has the most beautiful setting overlooking the water and is surrounded by wonderful gardens. The food was fresh and innovative but fell short on execution. I was really excited about the deconstructed seafood ravioli in cream sauce which turned out to be more like a bowl of milk with pieces of vegetables swimming in it and almost no... More

Beautiful dining room and very nice food. It is right on the ocean. The menu is seasonal and local. Great stop in Sooke.
