We were going to eat there today. Came 30 min before opening, the door was open and we asked friendly if we could seek shelter for the pouring rain until the kitchen opened. We were met by a hostile lady who got angry and told...us to wait outside in the rain. We desided to eat at Havet resturant insted. Excelent food and service. Chose them over Maren Anna.More

With the beautiful, tender whale steak (hvalbiff) on a delicious green bed of risotto and baby asparagus, with a thin border of a perfectly flavored sauce, and then the absolutely heavenly starter, cod tounge (torsketunge) sashimi, also spiced to perfection, the restaurant was in for...five stars from me. But! They had forgotten about the starter and when we made them aware of it, they still served the main dish first (which by then was ready) and then a couple of minutes later put the starter on the table as well - «on the house», though. We were a bit disappointed with this conduct, but they were so sweet and seemed so eager to make up for the mistake. The sashimi, however, was exquisite! We were too full for dessert, but since they offered local cheese, we decided to share one of these and ordered one plate. There were two pieces of all three cheeses, one on cow milk and two on goat milk, and we thought it was one more way of making up for the previous mistake. When we picked up the bill, however, there were two dessert on the bill, fully priced, even if we had asked for one only. We were tired of feeling like "difficult customers", so we decided to just pay the check without saying anything and left. We didn't leave much of a tip, however. A beautiful culinary experience – only really too bad they blundered with the order, delivery and bill.More

We had some excellent dining experiences while traveling in Lofoten, but Maren Anna was one notch above the rest. The ingredients are mainly typically Norwegian (cod, whale, salmon), but with a little twist. The catch of the day happened to be salmon which can be...a little bit "unexciting" when growing up with it for every day dinner. In this case it was perfectly cooked and served with roe, radish, oven baked potatoes and a buttery sauce. Highly recommend this restaurant for an experience of Norwegian "fine dining" in a relaxed atmosphere.More

We were blessed with beautiful weather, and so asked to be seated outside with the great harbour view. I had the best sashimi dish of my life, hands down, as well as a competent ox steak.

Had a lovely dinner out last night in Lofoten. The service was very good and attentive throughout. The fish was wonderful - and they had a vegetarian option which also was very nice. The highlight of the evening was the dessert - churro waffles with...ice cream.More

Perfect place to eat traditional norwegian food. The team working there is really good, and they would answer any question you have about the place.

Last minute we found this place for NYE. We weren't expecting much open on the island, so were just excited to find a restaurant. But we were more than happy with our luck! They did a 7 course menu for NYE and we loved every...single one. It started with a fun drink called two-faced, that had two different straws -- each causing the drink to taste differently :) Then the starters included duck, salmon ceviche (would come back just for this!), a shot that I can't even explain -- included vodka and what tasted like ice cream. Then it was on to stock fish and the main course of lamb -- both amazing. The desserts included a cheese plate and then baked Alaska! Even better is they timed the meal perfectly, we finished almost at midnight and got handed a glass of champagne to head to its pier and watch fireworks. Amazing experience, food and friendly staff make this place worth going to!More

We absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in high quality seafood/ fish. We felt very comfortable and the service was great. It is a little bit expensive but it's absolutely worth it. We got a table at the window, so we had a pretty...view of the harbor.More
