The restaurant in inside an old building that was built in Germany, dismantled, and rebuilt in Kimberley, BC. The old building makes for a wonderful dining atmosphere. Reservations are recommended as the restaurant is popular. We ordered the Bavarian Feast for about $35 Canadian each. The meal was more than worth the price. The description on the menu does not... We came to Kimberly for a quick 2 day getaway, and we were recommended to the Old Bauernhaus for dinner. Well.... From the rustic history, to the busy atmosphere, to the amazing hot and fresh food, we were not disappointed. The schnitzel is amazing, and the goulash is as well. Ask for spetzel instead of potatoes, and have the mushroom... More

This is a super place to eat while in Kimberley. The 350 year old barn house - brought from Germany in the late 1980's and reassembled here into a great restaurant. The chefs - Neils and Michelle are consummate professionals and enjoy putting on meals that are both delicious and eye pleasing. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxing... More

Nestled on a hill above the town of Kimberley is this restaurant. It is walkable from downtown. Up a hill, but walkable. The staff was very good, and attentive. The food was excellent. It's German - so expect cheese, meat, white sauce, cheese, more meat, and some sauerkraut. The salad was exceptional - fresh apples, lettuce, fennel, pecans, with a... More

We decided to try this gasthaus after reading its reviews. We travelled up to Kimberley from Fairmont Hot Springs (60 miles) for one menu item - Schweine Haxen (Pork Knuckle). This item must be ordered 24 hours in advance which we did. We have eaten Haxen at the Haxen Haus and various beer halls in Munich so we knew what... More

I've probably eaten here 10+ times over the past 10 years. Having 2 people with me on this trip that have never been to Kimberley before, this was a must stop. The serving staff has always been top shelf. Very friendly, quick on their feet and quite happy that you get to experience their food. All 3 of us went... More

This restaurant takes genuine Bavarian cuisine one step further, as the building is 350 years old and was moved to Kimberley from its original location in Germany. The building is entirely built out of wood and is a unique architectural site. Decor inside is plain and again entirely wood. Service is efficient. Prices are reasonable. We can recommend the schnitzel... More

The Bavarian Feast was a real treat and offered a wide range of traditional foods including appetizers, wienerschnitzel, and jagergeschnetzeltes. As a group of seven, we were easily accommodated and completely satisfied. Better call ahead to make a reservation, as this place can be very busy.

Took my hubby's parents for their anniversary. Love the Bavarian style building, ambiance was great, service was friendly and prompt. Menu was good, little too much pork products for us but we found delicious meals. They gave my in-laws a free strudel for their anniversary.

No matter how many people we are with or how many times we go here we always have the Bavarian feast! Fantastic local ingredients and great value with this menu option. Meal has wonderful value with getting to try lots of items and only about $30ish a person. The atmosphere is wonderful with the story of the building written on... More
